My wife can schedule the vaccine tomorrow in my county.

I have the alarm set for 11:55 PM tonight just in case the website goes live at midnight (doubtful).

I will have a dedicated laptop set to never sleep next to me virtually all of the time.

I installed a Chrome extension to automatically refresh every 10 seconds so I will know when the site goes live.

I'll let you know how it turns out. Survival of the fittest, baby.

In Oregon, we'll be signing up individually, according to which priority group we're in. Nobody will be able to just wander in someplace and get a shot.

One thing that's complicating matters is that the Trump administration fuckups have resulted in fewer vaccine doses arriving. The latest shipment was supposed to be 200,000 doses. It was, in fact, 80,000. State officials are worried that similar shortfalls in the future might affect vaccination rollouts.

I suspected that vaccines might be going to Trumper states at the expense of those states that rejected Trump. But I realized--that would be a coordinated response, however evil. That would imply thinking and planning, aspects of government that have been conspicuously absent these last four years.

Only two days until the end of Trump! Thank God!!

My wife won't just "wander in" to the vaccination queue. She is considered a frontline worker, so she has had to wait for medical personnel and those 75+ to register first. But within her cohort, some will be able to schedule very soon, hopefully her, and some will probably have to wait several weeks.

Probably the same with you.

The website here in Oklahoma says no booking appointments available.  I talked to a county health employee, he said try to access the site early on Thursday's moning when they get their allocations.  He said every drop is going into arms.  They've only received 60,000 vaccinations so far.

Didn't work - so far. I skipped sleeping mostly, have been monitoring the site for 14 hours, and they still haven't posted the scheduling link. And I'm tired.

Plan B: I just signed up with a sken.io, which will scrape the site for me every five minutes and let me know if there are any changes. And I set Gmail to forward a text to me when that happens. Set me back about $15.
