The FOP, representing more than 377,000 members, emphasized that public safety and border security will be top issues in the final months of the campaign. “Our members carefully considered the positions of the candidates on the issues, and there was no doubt—zero doubt—as to who they want as our President for the next four years: Donald J. Trump,” said Patrick Yoes, National President of the FOP. The endorsement followed a thorough vetting process where each candidate’s positions on law enforcement and criminal justice were reviewed. Yoes highlighted Trump’s past actions: “During his first term, President Trump made it clear he supported law enforcement and border security." Yoes also credited Trump with standing by the police during the summer of 2020, a period marked by national unrest. “With his help, we defeated the ‘defund the police’ movement,” Yoes added.
