YOU on the other hand do get to control all of the variables you use to decide whose side you're on with unjustly imprisoned Americans in Russia. I've been 50/50 if she really brought in a small amount of THC, or if they just grabbed her as a pawn. If she brought in THC, and she got a typical sentence, then she was stupid and should have spent her time in jail vs Sleepy (and it was Sleepy) giving up a terrible criminal for her return. Plus, do it once, and Russia will snatch more pawns. In fact, they grabbed one immediately after Griner being released. Likely this last snatching doesn't happen if Sleepy doesn't reward them in the Griner swap.
All that said, I'm happy that she's out of jail. Just not at the price paid. I don't care the color of those in Russian custody, but Sleepy proved that he does. It's all about buying votes.
