Yup. Ol' Joe played them MAGAts like a one string guitar.
He had them for breakfast. It was fun to see. He started slowly but seemed to gather energy as he went on. For someone who's always saying he's looking for compromise and cooperation, he sure seemed to relish the combat.
I think that may have been part of a grand strategy. Present yourself as reasonable and pursuing your primary goal of improving the lives of the American people, and then the RepubliQ look like assholes when they stand up and start screaming about that. Biden lowers insulin prices. The RepubliQ spends tens of millions "investigating" Hunter's laptop. Who's gonna win?

When President Biden pointed out that some Republicans (he said "some" twice!) wanted to sunset Social Security and Medicare, a lot of them started yelling at him to deny it. At which point Biden flipped the script nd agreed with them, and right there on live TV, the Republicans negotiated away one of their key negotiating positions. That is, the negotiating positions proposed by Republican Senators Ron Johnson, Rick Scott, and Mike Lee, among others.
But maybe poker isn't the best metaphor after all. So do you remember when Bo Jackson ran over Brian Bosworth?
