New York City Mayor Eric Adams said on Wednesday that the city’s ongoing migrant crisis is projected to cost the city over $12 billion by 2025 as he renewed his calls for more action from the federal government.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ "Since last year, nearly 100,000 asylum seekers have arrived in our city asking for shelter, and we are past our breaking point," Adams said in a statement.
