In a way, I can understand Newsmax's flogging that bullshit more than MAGA's buying it. Newsmax is a fifth-rate propaganda outlet, like a tabloid. They have neither the ability nor the inclination to do any actual reporting. So it was a good business decision on their part to go the full-blown lying route.
But how does it benefit MAGA to continue to tout the "stolen election" myth? They all know that the election was fair. Maybe they're showing their face-down butt-up loyalty to Dear Leader, but they don't get any rewards for that.
The specific allegation about the voting machines was, of course, a blunder. Newsmax didn't need to dream up "specifics" to "support" its allegations. They only needed to yeep "cheaters cheaters cheaters," like Trump did, and they would have attracted the same crowd of MAGA idiots. After all, the Turd had already said that he couldn't possibly lose unless the election was rigged. So what other "proof" did they need?
MAGA swallows anything and everything Trump feeds them. Like the 37 trillion ILLEGULS crossing the border every five seconds.
