Gavin Newsom has been the Governor of California for over five years, taking office on January 7, 2019. He was previously the Lieutenant Governor of California from 2011 to 2019 and the Mayor of San Francisco from 2004 to 2011 -- There is some real governing there - and Californians have continued to vote for him.
