Newsome in route to Democratic Governor's meeting at White House

It looks like Joe won't be the nominee. Not sure it will be Newsome but I think we will have a new candidate.

Hard to tell. Joe could just be weighing his options. As far as Newsom (no 'e') is concerned, he's been one of Biden's most vocal defenders, so it's questionable what his position is now.

My guess is that the one thing the Dem party apparatus wants is some assurance that if they elbow Biden out of the bus, Harris won't be the candidate. And that would entail convincing Joe to pledge his delegates to some other nominee. Not sure how Kamalacentric he is.

My take is that the Republipigs were doing their hahahahaha little dance and clapping their hands in glee after the debate, but the actual result may very well be that Trump will get crushed like a grape in November, by someone other than Biden.

I don't see the Dem. Party dropping Joe at this point.  They would have done it way earlier.  But, Newsom could become his VP candidate.

Drop-kicking Kamala? Not that I think it's necessarily a bad idea, but do you really think they would contemplate it? Would piss off a lot of folks.

I think she would voluntary leave if she thinks it would give the Democrats the best chance.

However, in the polling I have seen of the most often mentioned Joe replacements, she outperforms them all.  The polling shows she is particularly strong with women.

Isn't that a negative overall, though...being female? Hillary basically lost because of her gender. Polls over the years have consistently shown that about 5% of the electorate would NEVER vote for a woman. And Harris is black, so...double handicap.

I still want Mayor Pete. God, does he shred conservitards who try to get the best of him in congressional hearings, TV interviews, etc.

I don't think so. She would help with women, younger voters and minority voters. Whitmer probably offers the biggest bounty assuming she can deliver Michigan.

This is a meeting of the democratic governors.
