Drop-kicking Kamala? Not that I think it's necessarily a bad idea, but do you really think they would contemplate it? Would piss off a lot of folks.

I agree with Mark.  It would be best for her to just "bow out" and let someone else be Biden's next VP.

Well, yeah, but since when has "what would be best" entered the equation? What if Biden agrees to bow out, but is only willing to pledge his delegates to Kamala--no one else?

And why would Harris leave but Biden stay? I can't imagine him removing her for any viable reason. I surmise that it's within his constitutional power to do so, but why would he want to?

I asked the question regarding the scenario of elbowing Biden out of the bus (one way or another) and then preventing Kamala from assuming the role of nominee. Could the Dems even manage that, or does getting rid of Biden pretty much automatically lead to her being the nominee?

Hard to tell. Joe could just be weighing his options. As far as Newsom (no 'e') is concerned, he's been one of Biden's most vocal defenders, so it's questionable what his position is now.

My guess is that the one thing the Dem party apparatus wants is some assurance that if they elbow Biden out of the bus, Harris won't be the candidate. And that would entail convincing Joe to pledge his delegates to some other nominee. Not sure how Kamalacentric he is.

My take is that the Republipigs were doing their hahahahaha little dance and clapping their hands in glee after the debate, but the actual result may very well be that Trump will get crushed like a grape in November, by someone other than Biden.

Will my apology be coming them from you when Biden drops out?  Remember our little gentlemen's agreement on this one, right?  You told me there was no way this would ever happen.

No, because Biden won't drop out voluntarily. He may be forced out one way or another, but that's the only way he'll quit--dragged out kicking and screaming.

Aside from that, I don't recall telling you that this or anything else would "never" happen, as I know better than to make such one-sided predictions (I ain't David).

Unfortunately, today's 4th celebrations will be marred by Fuck News et al microscopically examining Joe for signs of weakness, even if his appearance is limited to something innocuous like throwing out the first pitch at a ballgame or eating a hot dog. Vultures don't take holidays.

I said he would never make it to his next term and you said he would.  How easily you forget now.

I still think he will.

Apology to me if not?

Apology for what?? For not having been able to predict the future? I made no promises to you.

Don't be silly, Jerry.
