The NFL

Ah, draft "dodgers"- Barrack Obama, military service= NONE. - Bill Clinton, military service =NONE.                     President Trump's "temper- tantrum"= I guess stating that Khizr Khan's wife "just stood there" equates to a "temper-tantrum".  Go figure, apparently you have to be a liberal to come to that conclusion. As far as calling McCain a hero for being captured and enduring years in captivity, one could label him a "hero".

This is the type of thing we're watching closely. For starters, I don't understand the title. Maybe I'm not up on the connection, but what does the NFL have to do with this statement? Is this a legitimate discussion point or an attempt to start a fight? Do we want posts like this?

Anthony- my original posting had nothing to do with where this topic has gone. Others have taken it to where it now is. I had no intention to start anything - I was just stating my viewpoint. And no, I really don't want to be part of any posts that end up where we find ourselves today. Hopefully others will concur.

The last time this place was turned into the no fun forum it didn't go over so well.  This place is just starting to get back up on it's feet. Old members are returning. There is no need to knock it back down.

If I had a vote....I would disallow ALL political posts.

OK! Will somebody please explain to me how exercising the very freedoms our military fight to uphold can be disrespecting to those very soldiers who fight so we are not like N Korea or any number of countries where the populace cannot exercise these rights? Everybody says that we fight for freedom! Is this just so much lip service?

Having been in the military, I did not fight for others to have the right to disrespect our National Anthem. Standing while the Anthem is being played shows respect for our nation and the Anthem.

As has already been said - the Football players aren't protesting our troops.   Not one of them has said as much.  Thats just what politically motivated hacks choose to believe - the same hacks who enthusiastically voted for a man that has publicly ridiculed a POW veteran for being captured.    Their hypocristy is not measurable by any sane metric.

Meanwhile the entire Republican establishment is undermining the FBI and CIA because of the Russia investigation. They cant stand the sitting president was working with a hostile foreign power to win an election.....so they are trying to tear down the integrity of the FBI and CIA who are investigating it - people who risk their lives on a daily basis to catch kidnappers, counterfitters, spies, and terrorists.

Right wingers sure to mind spitting into the face troops and first responders when it serves their political purpose.    Our friends on this board are no exception

I wonder what will be said as the next 7 years pass and America becomes, once again, the great nation it once was. Til then, rant on - I prefer to let time tell the true story. Happy New Year and God Bless us all.
