Lincoln's quote in his inaugural address. "“In your hands my dissatisfied fellow-country-men, and not in mine, is the momentous issue of civil war. The government will not assail you.” — Abraham Lincoln, from his first inaugural address, March 4, 1861. “My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or destroy slavery."
Liberals believe that the truth is offensive and should be ignored.
"Liberals believe that truth is offensive and should be ignored." Really!?!? Who has been denying the "truth" of 2020 election for three years? Which news network admittedly lied to its viewers for two years about the election--all the while laughing behind their backs about the absurdly of the allegations? Who is still running around claiming he won the 2020 election--including people on this very site. And you have the gall to say "liberals believe truth is offensive"? That's rich.
Europe has the holocaust deniers.....and America has the slavery deniers.
Its nice that they self identify. Makes it easier to call them out on it.
Here are the three demographics on the cause of the American Civil War.
1. Uneducated: It was slavery.
2. Semi-educated with room temperature IQs: It was a combination of social, economic, and governmental factors;
3. Educated and intelligent: It was slavery.

So you agree with my position.
Boiler, you're far too stupid to HAVE a position.
Here's the reality. The goober states seceded because they thought Lincoln was going to abolish slavery.
He couldn't. It would have taken a Constitutional amendment, which the goober states would certainly not have ratified.
He didn't want to. He stated so many times in 1861 and 1862, including after the war started.
Three slave states stayed in the Union and were allowed to maintain slavery. So any state that seceded would have been similarly allowed had it stayed in the Union.
So the cause of the Civil War was idiot Southern goober stupidity. They got all a'feared of something that wasn't going to happen.
There are other proximate causes, such as their belief that demand for cotton would be enough to prop up their economy (it wasn't) and might induce France and/or England to form a military partnership with them (it didn't).
Bottom line--slavery didn't cause it. Politics and goober stupidity caused it.

Uh-uh. It was Southern fear of the abolition of slavery, which couldn't possibly have happened had the idiot goober states stayed in the Union and maintained their presence in the House and the Senate. The 13th Amendment only passed because of their absence--and it was a narrow passage even so, illustrating that such a measure would have had no chance if the slave states had been present (three of them that had stayed in the Union were).
All they had to do is nothing. They started the war. THAT is what we should be teaching--that the 1861 insurrectionists tore this country apart for fear of something that wasn't going to happen. For no good reason.
The reason to object to slavery, or an examination of its role in American history, isn't because it caused the Civil War--it didn't. After all, our country had had slavery for over 200 years by 1861, and no war had started.
The reason to examine slavery is that it caused heartbreaking misery for millions and millions of people, and millions of Americans are the descendants of those people. Conservitards like to ignore how black Americans' lives have been affected by how their ancestors were treated.
If you still think that slavery caused the Civil War, consider that fewer than 1% of Confederate voters owned slaves, and fewer than 0.1% of those who fought for the Confederacy were slaveholders.
Lincoln's stated that the reason for his decision for war was state secession. Lincoln hated slavery, but it could have been a federal law prohibiting production of rice that lead to the war, if they South decided to secede for that reason.
The truth often baffles Liberals.

Did the IRS and DOJ cover up Hunter and Joe's illegal activities? Yes. Did the FBI squeeze Facebook, Twitter, and many other social sites to not report on such issues? Yes.
I'm not claiming that the polls were rigged. Our federal government conspired to influence the election by silencing the facts and the truth.
Can Dealer explain why Biden's 183 bank suspicious activity reports were never investigated, when anything over 4 gets a massive investigation for anyone else? You can't explain it because you never heard of this until this moment. And why is that?

The South seceded because they wanted slaves. I guess you would rather dabble in some incohernent hypotheitical reason rather than the real one.
Nicki Haley too. That plays great in inbred-Confederate country where she is from...not so well in New Hampshire.
