"No Kings"

But, yessss, David's right to interrupt the reasoned exchange of facts with juvenile memes is protected.  How did things go where you live, David?

Where is this Boebert country you speak of,  Never heard this reference.  Local nbc was showiing chicago protests, nothing local, but glad they had fun in Oregon and weren't nasty or disruptive

The Eastern Plains of Colorado, were Boebert ran to when she realized she would have to run on her "nothing accomplished" house record and would probobaly lose her seat. So she moved across the state to find the most Republican district available.

They then voted for her, probably because she wears tight jeans, and they see her on right-wing TV all the time. They should have elected Jerry Sonnenberg, born in the district, who runs a 100+ year old family ranch and served in the State Assembly for years.

That's where you live, right?

That doesn't answer the question "How did things go where you live, David?"

One poster said the response to NO KINGS was lame in his community.  I replied about my community's response, which I didn't attend but read about.

I know your nemesis is Kevin Lewis, and he yours.  Have you not noticed the many times I've posted in agreement with you, David, though you'd replied with rancor?  I thought you supported Trump/the Republican party.  I applaud his efforts at peace negotiations.  I pray he truly did divest himself of Epstein's influence.  I tremble reading about the shutdown and mass seemingly mindless firings, closures, arrests, etc.  The odor of creeping authoritarianism, which the NO KINGS protests were all about, frightens me.

Have you not noticed the times I've called Kevin out on something?  Literally scolded him here?   His capitalized mocking of southern dialects, for one, which IMO detracts from the point he wants to make.  He could have gone off on me with ugliness; yet most of those times he has replied with clarity, detailing what he actually means, how perhaps I'm just not getting something.  That I can appreciate and deal with.  Maybe not agree with, but seeing pieces of another point of view.

That's what, IMHO, these posts should be about.  Meaty discussions that regard, not necessarily agree with, others opinions.

Where I live, the "NO Kings" bullshit was ignored by myself  - as it was by the majority of sane, common sense Americans throughout America.

That's a lie. Unless you can tell us how you "know" what Americans did that day. Hell, conservative media was all over it.

And YOU? You started four threads and made over three dozen posts about the protests! "Ignored"?? My ass! Fucking liar!

HaHaHa - Candy's question asked for my reaction to the farce as it transpired and I responded truthfully. The "No Kings" protests was a joke and only provided an opportunity for the mentally sick and brainwashed to demonstrate their hatred for America and President Trump. No one with a functioning brain bought into and/or cared for the stupidity that these morons displayed.

Gee, you're doing a pretty poor job of "ignoring" the protests--youve been yeeping about them for three days!!!

You're pathetic 😂😂😂😂🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

I'll re-word this, substituting your insults with respectful phrases as an example of how this could have been written to positively influence some folks: [Changes are italicized.]

"HaHaHa - Candy's question asked for my reaction to the event as ot transpired and I responded truthfully.

The "No Kings" protests was, to me ineffective and only provided an opportunty for those who so believed to demonstrate their hatred for America and President Trump.  No one who had researched the issue bought into and/or cared for the beliefs that these folks displayed."

JMHO, but I'd be more likely to consider your point of view if given without the insults.  Most people are automatically turned off when insulted from the get go.  Even better if you cited your sources, as in did you drive to the areas? Read opinion pieces about it (would not have been published with the insults)? Watch/listen to on the street reports on TV news?

:) :) You were just subjected to Candy's class on Rhetoric, which is "...the art of effective persuasion in speaking/writing; techniques that writers use to inform, pursuade, and motivate audiences."  Of course that's only if you/the writer's goal actually IS to influence, not to insult, brow beat with put-downs.

Yeah...you put your finger on it. Miller isn't the slightest bit interested in rational discussion. He just wants to start fights and insult people.

I for one am disgusted by his and MAGA's characterization of the protestors, and by extension all who oppose Trump, as "hating America." Mike Johnson --that scummy little tool--said exactly that on Saturday. So is Miller, or is MAGA, ever going to have a reasonable discussion if they start from that stance? No! And since they must be aware of that on some level, we have to conclude that they don't WANT a reasonable discussion.

Your time is your own, but IMHO your attempt to civilly engage with Miller is pointless. You tried that, and he crapped all over you, even though you gave him no reason to be nasty to you.

He's an awful person, just like his orange master.
