California has the largest Entertainment and Fashion industries in the country.

As a Californian, I have to say the bad does outweigh the good, but my wife and I make a decent wage as teachers....and our job is not easy, as some on here think. We have thought about getting out of California to a state that has a lower cost of living, but we love our house, which is paid off, our neighbors and neighborhood and our only child lives here. Honestly, there is good and bad in every state, but California is a very liberal state, and a constant target of conservatives. Kind of funny that California lives in the minds of people halfway across the country. Hate on, Haters!

As California gets more Liberal, it's heading downhill in quality of life. I visit regularly and have a half dozen friends who live there. None argue this.

Depends on what you quantify as quality of life, I guess. Ours isn't too bad, but we're definitely in the minority. I know plenty of people that have left to other parts of the country, and I don't blame them at all. To each their own.
