The extra taxes or fees, if that makes you feel better are real and are added to the bill.  And that includes the city market, not just the resturants.

They do the same stuff in Vegas and I am sure they do in Texas as well.

Tom:  Please don't dispute Kevin's blabber with stats.  He just hates that.  I think we all know the #1 negative to living in Portland though........

Still 4-4 in this formal poll.

I've been going to that mall for 24 years and have never had any problems, that mall also has security in the parking lots at all times. Too bad for your family.

Treatment facilities full of kids' drug dealing? No idea how to respond to this weird statement.

I challenged stupid Tom to name Texas's 16 national parks. He weaseled. He'll weasel if you ask him to verify any of his other "stats" as well.

They "know all too well"?? How? They read a sensationalist story in the tabloids? Because I doubt that they've ever spent any actual time there.

Your family's incident was unfortunate, but that doesn't mean it was typical. That said, leaving valuable items visible in a parked car is never a good idea, in Denver or Dallas or Dirt Flats.

People generally make the mistake of overestimating the overall frequency of something if it happens to them--even once--and underestimating the overall frequency if it doesn't.

Lying Lewis can not stay on topic - each and every time he gets caught in another lie, he changes the topic.

sorry for sharing Kevin you have a knack for belittling everyone.  I also have family in boulder, and the cherry creek area, and a nieghbor with a 2nd home in Glenwod springs.  I still vote for Texas

To each his own, according to his or her preferences. I was merely pointing out the relative meaninglessness of isolated incidents, and how people overweight them, especially if they personally experience them.

Believe me, I've talked to dozens of friends, acquaintances, and relatives who have been victims of petty crime and without fail, they take it as an indicator of the area in question going to hell in a handbasket. Republicans have exploited this beautifully--most of the country thinks crime is way up, when it's actually significantly down.

And as far as Texas goes--a lot of things happen there that aren't technically crimes by Texas law, but are still awful. But again--to each his own.
