Oh My God! Tom Was Right! Violence Breaks Out At Ice Detention Facility Resulting In Injury

Officials at the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Facility have placed a correctional officer on administrative leave after a pickup truck drove into protesters at the entrance to the facility’s employee parking lot Wednesday night.

A 64-year-old man, identified as Jerry Belair, of Warren, by protest organizers Never Again Action, suffered a broken leg, internal bleeding and a possible back injury as a result of the incident.

Amy Anthony, the Jewish activist group’s spokeswoman, said four others were injured in the chaotic scene. One of them, whom she could not identify, was also injured by the truck. The others — whom she identified as Christian Andrade, 74-year-old Ellen Bar-Zemer, and Evan Leferriere — were treated for injuries related to the pepper-spray that was used to disperse protesters from the quasi-private prison.

To make matters worse the perp's co-workers stormed out of the building and unlawfully pepper-sprayed the injured and non-injured elderly protesters after the perp ran over the people.

I am sure Tom will be the first to call for these violent felonious correctional officers at this immigrant detention center to be prosecuted to the fullest extent the law allows.

I just watched the video. Apparently the protesters were blocking the entrance to the parking lot and decided to pound on the pickup as the driver sounded the horn and they refused to move so the truck could enter the lot. Co-workers pepper sprayed the protesters, not the injured as Mark has said, as the protesters were confronting the pickup truck driver. After the pickup had stopped, the protesters ignored the injured and started holloring "the whole world is watching". I don't condone what the driver did, but his actions had and have nothing to do with the detention of illegal aliens. Think about this; if there were no illegal aliens there, then there would have been no protesters there and no confrontation.

There is a second, longer video that shows no one being pepper sprayed as the Federal Officers dispersed the crowd to allow the pickup to enter the parking lot. Once again Mark has embellished and twisted the facts to make this incident look to be worse than is was. Watch the longer video and decide for yourself.---- I stand corrected, for in another video it shows ONE officer briefly pepper spraying protesters as they refused to move away from the pickup.

Every news article I have come across says they were pepper sprayed.  This one was just updated.

Moments later a few men wearing shirts with “corrections” written on the back showed up at the scene.

Suddenly somebody fired a burst of pepper spray into the dozens gathered, as people rubbed their eyes, coughed and stumbled from the area.

Protesters said the driver of the truck was an employee of the facility and one of the guards set off the pepper spray.

Five people were injured – two struck by the truck and three hit with pepper spray.

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha and the state police said they will launch an investigation.

Hitting edlery people like that with pepper spray is asking for a serious medical problem. Not to mention the guards had no legal authority to pepper spray protesters.  Still haven't heard from Tom.

On this video if you start at the 1:25 mark you can see the pepper spray fly.

Still beating that horse....

"Protestors" block a pickup truck, start pounding on it, and one jumps into the bed. The driver was expected to just sit there while they were damaging his property and were very likely to physically attack him if he exited the truck?

Mark obviously approves of violent mob behavior against people whose jobs are to enforce this nation's laws. It's no wonder you try to trivalize the violence of antifa.

David said, "Still beating that horse.... "

Nope, just proving a point about who is violent. Tom has beat the drum for months about protesters at ICE facilities trying to create the false equivalencely that the protesters are the same as the White Nationlist Conservatives that are going on murder sprees.  Yet, the ICE protesters haven’t injured anyone.  Now we have officers at an ICE facility running over eldery jewish protesters and then dousing them with pepper spray.

Bob, Yep, he tried to push his vehicle through the crowd. The person didn’t jump on his bed until he had already hit people. I would have done the same to try and keep him from injuring more people.  If someone is blocking your path when you have a legal right to be somewhere, you call the police to have them removed. You don’t run over them. Especially if you are a supposedly Federally trained officer that should have known better.

Yada,Yada,Yada - same old shit from Mark.

Nope, same old denial from you.  I'd still like to hear Tom's thoughts on this issue. I am sure he will have something to say because violence at ICE facilities is his pet issue and I know he is not hypocritical. ;)

Mark equates an ICE employee being harassed into violence with the shooting of the ICE office in Texas & the violent threats to ICE employees in Florida.
