Ohio Orders Purge of Ineligible Voters from State Voter Rolls After Finding 137 ‘Non-Citizens’ Registered to Vote.

The article's "author" poses that this kind of audit is something that's new, unusual, or different--in order to make his stupid drool-mouth compaint that Democrats are "outraged" by it. That is in turn fed by the tired narrative that Democrats are all about voter fraud belch grunt snort.

The reality is that EVERY state conducts an annual audit of voter registrations, so whatever the posturing by Ohio officials may be, it's a nothingburger, not news. Of course, David got hooked and kerfuffled by it. But he's a dupe.

I enjoy seeing the resident liberals jump at the chance to display their fear that all across America states are purging the illegal votes that were counted for brain dead Biden. Having a fair, honest election frightens DemocRats - they know that the 2020 election was fraudlent and that they got away with it.

The 137 ineligible voters were found in a sample test. That is why they are now going thru the entire state.

It seems like a really low number to use as a base to spend the money to do a special audit unless all the actions they take are part of their normal audit process.  At least it won't be like Cyber Ninja auditing the Arizona election, Ohio won't go bankrupt! Heck maybe Ohio will encourage more people to make sure they're registered to vote.

I find this one particularly funny:

In Ohio, Section 3503.152 - Ohio Revised Code Review of Database for Noncitizens states that the secretary of state shall conduct an annual review of the statewide voter registration database to identify persons who appear not to be United States citizens.  They do this by comparing the 8 million voter database to the Bureau of Motor Vehicle database of 8.6 million licensed drivers.  Calling it a sample test is a misnomer.  There are three steps to determine if non-citizen is illegally registered.  They found 137 non-citizens who were registered. They are given at least two written notices to either cancel their voter registration of confirm their citizenship status.  If they don't response, they're removed from the voter rolls.  Before the abortion referendum that passed, 26,666 voters were purged from the voter rolls.  Only 12 responded to the letter sent to them indicating they wanted to stay registered to vote.  This shows it's a good idea to update their voter rolls to remove those who hadn't engaged in a voter activity in the past 4 years.  I like that the state will have a website so people can check to see if they are still registered since they may not receive a letter from the secretary of state for non-voter activity since non-extended forwarding notices expire in 185 days.

Hi MP.  Most likely they were LPRs.  These are legal permanent residents who qualify for green cards but aren't citizens.  There are almost 13 million LPRs in the US.  I am very close to a family headed by a LPR.  I've helpled raise her daughter since she was 2.  Her mother is a Vietnamese refugee who worked as a seamstress.  Lisa will be graduating from Chapman Univ in December with a Masters in Medical Science in their PA program.  A LPR is eligible for a driver's licenses.  With motor voter, there is a place to register to vote.   Completing it could be done by accident.  As far as Ohio, the 137 account for 0.002% of registered voters in the state.  In 2020, the state had 117 people who were illegally registered with 13 of them voting.  Take care.

Robert dropping knowledge.  My mom is an LPR....and she doesn't vote.  If she could, she would vote for Trump (only person in the family that would).  So not all LPR's that could vote illegally, would vote automatically for Biden.  This thread is done.

The purge itself isnt such a big deal.  Its probably insignificant in its impact to voter turnout.

But it does show the degree to which Republicans and right wing media have convinced themselves of the BS conspiracy theory thats been being barfed out ever since Obama won the election in 2008.   "Rampant voter fraud is rigging elections for Democrats".   If you say it enough times then partisan numbskulls in the media base believe it.    Doesnt matter if there is no evidence to back it up.

Trump and his base of crybabies made it go exponsntially viral....to the point of an insurrection.   But that BS was around long before he was around.

Do you remember a few years back when it was "busloads of illegal aliens" voting? Then everyone began carrying a camera in their pocket, and no one ever managed to take a single snapshot.

Seems like a good system.

It also belies the Trumpist notion of quadrillions of fake votes being cast from Jupiter or wherever. It's actually almost impossible to get an invalid ballot counted.
