OK, I sure ain't proud of the hockey team now!

I saw a clip of them at the Turd of the Year address. They decided to be Trump lackeys and help support his propaganda and lies.

If they had any honor, they would have refused to attend.

Which team was it that refused to visit the White House after winning a championship during Trump's first term? Those guys, I was immensely proud of! Principles came first!

BOO S A! BOO S A! BOO S A!

Note how Trump styled the US's recent Olympic success as all due to him and his bigly genius and wise, noble leadership. Did you see that moment when he was about to demand that the team give him their gold medals, but he got distracted when he shat his pants?

Choosing to attend a speech does not necessarily mean one endorses or agrees with the speaker.

True. But certainly, their presence helped him with his boasting and self-aggrandizement, which was extremely dishonorable. They allowed themselves to be used as a propaganda tool.

I understand. They were basking in the limelight. And they're young and dumb, as most athletes are. Surely if one of them had said, "I don't want to attend," he would have been excoriated by his teammates, his coach, the MAGA press, and above all, the Turd himself, who would have sent ICE thugs to kill the player's family.

Just to be clear, I view assisting Trump in any way to be dishonorable, down to and including the aide who brings him coffee in the morning and changes his diaper.

And as far as endorsement and agreement goes--they stood and lustily applauded along with the Republicans every single time he barfed out one of his evil lies. Though once again, they may have been afraid for the safety of their families if they had remained seated.

Well to me it seems they let themselves be used as a political prop.  Maybe you missed the dramatic way they entered and chanted.  That was obviously planned.  That doesn't scream integrity to me.  The women's team handled it much better.

I wouldn't falt them for just attending. It is their participation in a political stunt that I fault them for. It was disgraceful IMO. They didn't represent all of America at that point they represented MAGA's fascist version of America and chose a side. They might be great hocky players but they are terrible humans that lack any ability to read the moment.

Yes I did miss that. I didn't watch any of the speech.

They were back peddling today. The context is Trump insulted the women's team when he called and congratulated the men's team for their victory.  To to see the men's team go 100 percent all in on Trump after that was reprehensible.

To Trump and MAGA, women aren't people.

What I saw was an orderly informal procession of the players into the gallery, "chanting" USA, USA, USA.

What could be wrong with that?

Those who would criticize the players'  participation in this moment to honor them...shame on you.

Thank you Candy. What you saw is what real Americans who love America saw.

Any positive is good.
