What I saw was an orderly informal procession of the players into the gallery, "chanting" USA, USA, USA.

What could be wrong with that?......................

Sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Those who would criticize the players'  participation in this moment to honor them...shame on you.

You really think it was to honor them? It was to honor Trump--give him an opportunity to boast and gloat.

You may not have seen his Lies Social posts, where he took credit for their victory and the US's overall success.

Shame on anyone who forfeits their honor in order to be a Trump propaganda tool.

Thank you Candy. What you saw is what real Americans who love America saw.

And Miller thinks that only those who love Trump love America or are "real Americans," which is a pretty horrible point of view to have.

I think a lot of the overall approval/toleration of the usage of the US hockey team as propaganda tools is that their appearance was an opportunity for attendees/watchers to not think about Trump for a few seconds. For as long as everyone was cheering and they were waving at the crowd, no one had to listen to the Orange Pigface barf out his evil lies.

I don't think for one second that Trump was proud of them or happy for their success. He saw and used them as a tool for his own gain, like the pathological narcissist that he is. I was disgusted to see our Olympic athletes debased.

But yeah, maybe it's better to just chant USA USA USA and ignore all that subtext. Sometimes "feel good" is a superior alternative to "acknowledge the truth."
