LOL. I'm left of Marx, but even I recognize that the Biden administration has been lying through its teeth and way overstepping its data and running an anti-free speech Orwellian campaign in the name of being our daddies.
At least when the former Prez talked about ingesting bleach, we all knew he was full of it. And he did, too. The current crew pats us on the heads while claiming omniscience.
The US is (am I allowed to say this?) fucked. The only US leadership criteria are money and ability to bloviate.

Oh, come on. Anti-free speech? The measures to stop the dissemination of covid disinformation on social media weren't a free speech issue, though the idiot asshole conservitard nutjob faction tried to paint it as such. See the "shout "FIRE" in a crowded theater" Supreme Court decision from over a century if you need an historic example.
No one claims omniscience, except perhaps the Orange Turd and the talking heads on Fox Nooze. But scientists' reports can SOUND like claims of omniscience to those who don't really read or listen to them. The way that scientists present tentative conclusions from existing data is, "This is what we know so far." An essential element of science is that those conclusions can be altered if and when more data comes in.
What diminishes the public perception is that when scientists change their conclusions, the goobers immediately pop their heads up and say, "SEE! Told ya! Them scientists don't know NUTHIN!" while the ideologically paralyzed nutcases say, "Fauci just admitted he was wrong" or some other fart. Of course, science evolves, and only religion and politics make absolute statements.
And of course, those who chafe at restrictions are the first to bleat at the scientists who analyzed the data that led to those restrictions. So the result of ARE PRESHUS FREEDOM was a covid death rate double that of any other modern industrialized nation. But hey, what's an extra half million deaths as long as we thwart the nanny state with their stupid "how to stay alive" advice?

Fakebook isn't a news source. It's not objective.
I wonder at the mental sickness of Davey Dog.

Seems a rather bizarre argument given the conservative approach of rewriting history by legislation. That denies future generations the ability to separate fact from fiction. That's the ultimate threat to free speech and it is already here. And sorry as someone far on the left it seems to me you are just concern trolling.

Well, this is the hole in Robert's argument. When Trump pitched his bullshit, he knew that some folks (a disturbingly high percentage) would believe it. And in the case of drink bleach et al,. some of those folks would die. It is, perhaps unfortunately, just as much of an offense to cause the deaths of stupid people as any other. When you're the 21st century's Jim Jones, like it or not, the fate of a lot of people is in your hands.
I don't view the government making things safer as the actions of a "nanny state." I remember hearing the same argument about seat belts, FDA inspections, restaurant cleanliness mandates, etc. etc. etc. I do think social media, like other media, should be policed, and let's face it, the only reasons conservitards are kerfuffled about it is that their gang is the one that produces the dangerous shit. It's not removed because it's conservative. It's removed because it's dangerous. Period.
