Only pre-determined questions allowed

Former California first lady and journalist Maria Shriver revealed that only “pre-determined questions” were allowed to be asked of Vice President Kamala Harris at a Michigan town hall event on Monday.

“Are we going to be able to ask a question?” a woman attending the Oakland County event asked Shriver ahead of Harris taking the stage with former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney

Shriver shut her down.

“You’re not, unfortunately, we have some pre-determined questions,” the former “Dateline” correspondent replied.

“Hopefully I’ll be able to ask some of the questions that might be in your head,” Shriver added.

Video of Shriver’s response to the woman quickly went viral on social media, with several users slamming the event as a Harris campaign “production” rather than a genuine town hall – where voters are typically allowed to ask presidential candidates unscripted questions.

Lots of words to say:

The show chose not to take audience questions.

Trump has NEVER appeared at a genuine town hall--there were a couple of Fox Nooze gatherings of MAGAs called "town halls"--and Trump was told what the questions would be (and they were all softballs).

Were you outraged by that?

Isn't the point of a town hall meeting to take questions?

Yes, but campaigns don't allow them to be free-for-alls any more, because so many of them have deteriorated into shouting matches, and all too often, the discussion is dominated by a single topic.

And given the nature of this race in particular, neither candidate wants to waste a valuable prime-time TV appearance. So the town hall is scripted.

But really, how many programs of any kind are completely live and unrehearsed? Hell, even game shows do twenty or more takes, and sports events are heavily edited, even when they're "live."

Also...if a Harris town hall was ever truly "live," the Proud Boys would send a gang to disrupt the event.

Yes! Candidates should also not spend 30 minutes bopping to music at Town Halls. So I can be critical of both sides.

Am I being too judgmental?

As usual mp only has part of the story. Trump did this due to a medical emergency to 1 of the attendees & said it would not be right to keep talking.

Absolute bullshit. Trump only cares about himself. That sounds like a pretext for the Turd to scurry away.

As for Trump saying that it wouldn't be right for him to keep on talking.  has stupid Tom seen any of the Turd's rallies???

And Kamala didn't take questions from the audience because of the person holding the audience microphone was attacked by a werewolf.

Okay, which of our stories is more unbelievable?
