An opinion pole about the forum

I don't really expect anything to be done. I'm mostly just curious on the results.

Hypothetically, if the below forum rule were proposed and went to the users for a vote how would you vote?

Thread limits - Each user is limited to starting two new threads per day per subforum. There is no limit on posts. Only on the number of started threads in each subforum.

I am mostly just looking for a yes, no, or undicided. However, please feel free to elaborate if you wish.

Depending on the forum software the site uses this might be able to be done without any human moderation. An administrator might be able to simply change a setting.

I will respectfully request that in this thread everyone refrain from making ad hominem attacks or other insulting  remarks

That doesn't work when the whole front page is coverd with one person's threads. He is drowning everyone else's speech out and that is problem.

I like the rule purposal but the problem is that would require a full time forum moderator and it wouldn't be practical.

My purposal is to simply get rid of the problem. David is an adult and he knows exactly what he is doing. Have AC say David if you don't limit yourself to starting two threads a day you are gone. If he violates it he is gone and there is no additional work required of the LVA staff. Then it is 100% David's own responsibility to control his own bad behavior.

Not necessarily. Some forum platforms have an option for this in the settings. It could be as simple as having a site administrator change a setting.

Another option is to have enforcement be complaint based.

May I respectfully request clarification? Was "do not reply," meant as advice for those who see posts they find obnoxious? Or was it meant to discourage people from replying to the pole?

Bad behavior? - now that is rich coming from you. You have initiated numerous inflamatory, accusatory threads here in the Sink for years - crying the "sky is falling" whenever you could embellish/distort a topic in order to appease your TDS. Your problem with me is that I post factual, truthful information that you can't factually dispute, and because of that you want to silence the "messenger" .... Once again, if you don't like my posts, then bar me. Now go and get a hanky and wipe your tears ...

It might have been the gatekeeper, or the Wizard.  Were they they same actor, Frank Morgan doing both parts?

Clarification

I haven't counted, but it seems the continuation of threads is mostly between the same two posters, the one who initiates and the one who seems powerless to avoid replying, which becomes endless.   Those who are so bothered by it, just stay out instead of trying to add your two cents.  Let Kitchen Sink dry up for lack of participation.

Why does anybody come to this site anyway?  Our common thread (no pun intended) is an interest in our Vegas vacations, the games, hotels, shows, eateries, topics covered under the other Forums.  Surely there are other online boards in which to fight over politics?

I like having the opportunity for other subject matter discussion, but that ship has sailed, unfortunately.

Candy

I totally support a per day limit on starting threads, and you would think that there would be a setting that could be set up for a certain limit, like you suggested, LiveFree, of 2.

This nasty reply illustrates what the problem is.
