Oregon gives the Turd the finger--again

First, the Trump military invasion of Portland was declared illegal. Now, the Turd administration's attempt to force blue states to turn over registered voters' personal data has failed, with Oregon winning its suit to stop it.

The Orange Fuck-pig's attention has been on California for a while, and now it's on Minnesota, so aside from Portland being visited by the Turd's goon squads, we've mostly flown under the radar. But it sure is nice to know that the courts can still stop his shit. It's only a matter of time before he hears some babble-vomit on Fox Nooze at 3 am and decides to retributionalize us again.

I wonder if it's even legal for the President to target certain states but not others. Not having voted for the Turd is not a justification for persecution.

(Of course, SCOTUS, as nothing more than a Trump appendage, will happily endorse anything he does and give him carte blanche.)

The latest Trump-shit is to cut off all federal funding to states with sanctuary cities. Of course, that's nothing but "retribution" against states that didn't vote for him. It's looking like the courts will kill that one, too.

So much winning! Yay Oregon!

The federal government often threatens states with cutting off funding for not following its wishes. BUT  never (to my recollection) to such a crazy extent and such a crazy purpose as they seem to be doing now.

Before it was things like the drinking age. Now it is targeted at things like states insisting on due process. Or states that have a population critical of the current regime.

I think I do recall some court cases suggesting that the practice of the Federal government using funding to control state matters is unconstitutional. Basically if something is normally a state matter  then the feds can't attempt to control state matters with funding restrictions. To do so would violate the 10th amendment.

I think we are going to start seeing more pushback from states. Especially as the feds interfere more and more. The current administration has largely gotten a pass from states that traditionally vote republican but also aren't a fan of Federal intrusion in local matters. I don't think this will last forever. It's only a matter of time before he angers states like Montana, Idaho, Kentucky, Texas etc.

Aren't voter records public information?  I don't see the issue here other than fraudsters being obtuse.

I would presume that the information they want is not public. If it was then they could just get it pretty easily. Obviously anything that is public information should be handed over.

The Epstein files are public by court order.    So far the Trump Adminis traction has only released 1% of them.   Maybe states should withhold their federal tax payments.

They should absolutely be released. In full. No redactions.

States don't pay federal taxes. The people do. Should the people withhold taxes? Perhaps. But it won't make the feds release the files. And the IRS is a formidable enemy.

Absolutely not. If the Turd administration got hold of voter records, they could tell who voted Democrat. Then Trump would double their income taxes and send his Brown Shirts to burn down their houses and rape their daughters.

The democrats judge shopped this case to a biden appointee; who like good biden democrat rejected the case.  Expect this decision to be overturned.

The DemocRAT obstruction continues - apparently Blue states have a problem cooperating and releasing information that other states readily produce.

Gee, and a Trump appointee never hears a case and makes a ruling favorable to the Turd?

You can "expect" until your bowels rupture, but states' rights are fundamental and no court in the land, even a MAGA court in a red state, will endorse violating those rights. Even a drooling goober state Trump lackey will realize that they might be next.
