Oregon leading the way

It must be pretty bad if they had to go dig up the old fossil Kevin to "teach."

It is called "scraping the bottom of the barrel". I feel for the students.

Your comprehension is flawed, and now that you have been called out for it, you say I "inferred". I "inferred" nothing, I said "their" governor.  Nationwide or not - my posting was about Oregon. Losing qualified teachers and replacing them with lessor, unqualified teachers will most assuredly "dumb down" students for whatever these unqualified "teachers' attempt to teach. In any job, when you replace qualified workers with lessor qualified workers, the product (in this case students) will be inferior. Show where you got your information concerning "districts are telling parents to take their children back home and plunk them down in front of Fox news". Another lie that you can not back up.

It's "lesser." A "lessor" is someone who signs a lease.

Students are not a "product."

As I told you, this measure is "temporaty," as you put it.

I returned to teaching long before this shortage happened. But whatever---you're just being a jerkass.

We had some Republicans ready to step into the breach, but they showed up wearing MAGA hats and "STOP THE STEAL" t-shirts. A couple of them tried to beat up a black teacher. One of them even had an entire lecture prepared, complete with Powerpoint slides, on "Climate Change: The Socialist Liberal Hoax." One guy who said he was a science teacher showed up with a scale model of a Jewish space laser.

I said that even an unqualified substitute would be better than an unattended classroom, but for these MAGA morons, the empty classroom would be better.

Imagine how things must be in Texas, where these people are the only ones allowed to teach!

I apologize Kevin but you put that one right on the tee for me.  I couldn't resist.

In Texas the schools have to provide "oppossing views" about the Holocaust....because many of the Proud Boy's parents want "oppossing views" about the Holocaust taught to kids.    Texas is fucked up

Does Oregon do that ?

Yeah, and don't forget the part about Texas teachers being forced to teach "opposing viewpoints" about slavery.

Texas is a hellhole packed to the brim with idiots and assholes and should be expelled from the United States. Failing that, nuclear warfare is a viable option.

And to answer your question, no, Oregon doesn't do that. Stalker voiced his tender concern for the fate of all those innocent children being inadequately taught. I guess he means, being taught actual history rather than conservitard RepubliQ Texas revisionist history.

I fully expect the Alamo to be remodeled into an interactive diorama showing how Davy Crockett won the battle and defeated Nazi Germany, after which he invented computers. Y'know, authentic Texas history.
