Robinson (Kirk's killer) was a perfect MAGA. Violent, confused, sexually repressed, fondling his guns, preaching hatred and running around flapping his arms: a mentally fucked-up product of the cult.

It was his misfortune to meet and fall in love with an "abomination." I'm sure that his family came down on him like a ton of bricks for that--not like they'll admit it now, of course. Their "explanation" is that falling in love with a tranny made him liberal.
