Phenomenal new PDX (Portland, OR) airport

Most of Portland is over taxed and overtly fascist with piles of goo and poo all around due to the out of control homeless population and illegals, but they did manage to build a beautiful new Airport.  One of my favorite YouTube channels, the B1M did a show on it recently.  What a nice bit of architecture.

Yeah, yeah. The homeless population is "out of control" and we have TRILLYUNS UV ILLEGULS running around loose. We've heard it all before.

The Portland airport is an excellent facility, and it's served by the light rail network, which conservatives cried and screamed about because, uh, who ever goes to the airport?

Why do you think the Las Vegas airport doesn't have rail to the rental cars or hook up to the monorail?  Is it due to the Taxi Unions?  I find it ludicrous to have to bus to get to the rental cars center or that people have to taxi to the strip or downtown.  What a joke in 2024.

Now for the facts

Public transit ridership in the Portland metro area is at 68% of pre-pandemic levels, new data shows. That's based on September 2023 ridership as compared to September 2019, according to American Public Transportation Association (APTA) data.

Portland's slow transit recovery puts Portland at 62nd out of just over 100 metro areas with more than 500,000 people.

Once again, stupid Tom posts an irrelevant "statistic" that, even if authentic, has nothing to do with the discussion.

Public transit ridership IN ALMOST ALL MAJOR CITIES is down compared to before the pandemic, because so many more people are working remote jobs. The utility of public transit for those who use it is unquestioned.

Stupid Tom.
