Plan Ahead

Like I said Rockstar.

Our last three "socialist" presidents reduced the federal deficit during their term.   How many decades do you need to go back to find a Republican administration that did that?

Perhaps DonDiego can shed some light.

I dont know what  "ism"  dynamic scoring falls under when measuring a bill's financial impact on our debt.   But thats the most batshit scam in modern economic history and its preached constantly by the sitting speaker of the House....and every Republican president since Reagan.

Only in PJ's liberal math, does the man who doubled the deficit manage to reduce the deficit.

What da ya mean?  I counted Bush.

But he did alot more than double the deficit.   It was zero when he took office.   8 years and countless lectures about Socialism from our resident conservatives later  he managed to kick it up to 1.9 trillion....all the while people like Tom were waiving their pom-poms for the deficit funded  Iraq war.

And here they all are lecturing us about fiscal irresponsibility again.

Incorrect, the $ 1.9 trillion  deficit was the first year of Obama.

You mean the budget signed off by Bush for fiscal year 2009 ?    Seriously, Tom.  Get back to complaining about golf.

PJ is correct.  However he wishes to ignore than Obama signed off on this budget also.  Obama had every opportunity to change it.

Those who count on full social security benefits better hope that President Trump is re-elected in 2020.   Only a lame duck, second-term President, will be able to pass the unpopular, yet necessary reforms to avoid a 23% cut for social security benefits in 2034.   As a first step, I suggest passing a law to tie federal pension cuts to social security so these benefits are cut 23% when social security is cut.  This oughta get Congress off their butts to pass the necessary reforms.
