Poland Has It Right - Europe Needs To Wake Up Before It Is Too Late

“We do not talk. We do. We take action.” Dominik Tarczyński, a member of the European Parliament, explains Poland's approach to illegal immigration and the measures the country has taken to deter illegal border crossings, including the construction of a border wall. ---   https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1946214939418909

 That can be changed.

No, not unilaterally by any nation or nations in the EU. And despite whatever babble is in your Fakebook post, no EU nation is going to close its borders. It would be economic suicide.

Of course it is.

One can move freely between member nations with an EU passport yes but that is by definition a control/restriction.

The story / post was not about EU passport holders.

It was about people immigrating to Poland illegally.

Have you ever been to Europe? The borders between EU countries are marked, but there are no checkpoints, no stoppages. You're driving, you don't even slow down. There's a sign, "Wilkommen in Deutschland." That's it.

Entry from non-EU countries is of course controlled and there are border checkpoints.

Eastern Europe is backsliding into racial paranoia and fascism. The hard-line right-wing factions are gaining ground. Fear and hatred of "outsiders" is fueling the rise of opportunistic politicians. You'd think that Poland, of all places, would know better, given their history.
