POLITICS Republicans take voter registration lead from Democrats in crucial swing state for the first time

Republicans have officially surpassed Democrats in North Carolina voter registration for the first time in the state’s history, marking a dramatic political shift in one of the nation’s most closely watched battleground states and a development Republicans tell Fox News Digital shows the effectiveness of the Trump agenda. "Republicans are crushing Democrats’ voter registration advantage in North Carolina and taking control statewide thanks to Michael Whatley’s leadership," RNC Chairman Joe Gruters exclusively told Fox News Digital. "President Trump’s America First agenda is winning. Democrats are failing, their out-of-touch liberal agenda is being rejected, and voters are done with Roy Cooper and Josh Stein -- https://www.foxnews.com/politics/republicans-take-voter-registration-lead-from-democrats-in-crucial-swing-state-for-the-first-time

That's because Democrats there are already registered, while Republicans have been sitting around picking their noses and masturbating to Trump videos.

Stupid Kevin. This refers to the total number of registered voters including those already registered.

In order to surpass that previous total, Republicans would have to...wait for it...register. Any increase would be due to unregistered citizens...wait for it...registering.

Christ, you're an idiot.

I don't know why David is honking and clapping his flippers about Republicans taking control of a state that they're already firmly in control of due to egregious gerrymandering.

the largest demographic in NC is "unaffiliatted".

Trump currently holds a 35% approval rating in that state - about on par with the rest of the nation.   And after he stiffed  the people in Asheville with hurricane relief you can bet Democrats will be taking that election in the midterms.   Thats why their Republican Senator dropped out.

Happy New Year.

I don't know if they'll be able to flip the state, given the extreme gerrymandering that has given almost all the House seats to Republicans. Senate seats may go to Democrats, though.

I don't know to what extent NC is MAGA. The tri-cities area has intelligent people/college graduates, so they vote Democrat. But the rest of the state is mostly drooling ignorant goober Trumpers.

Asheville is kind of a special case in that while it's firmly in Hillbilly Land, decent people (Democrats) have been attracted to it for a long time, due to its beauty and great climate. And yeah, Trump saying "You don't get FEMA money because you didn't all vote for me" alienated not only Democrats but also the people who DID vote for him.

NC is going to be the new Virginia by the end of this decade.     Former Red State that now goes blue.

How can Democrats break the death grip that the Republipigs have on the state legislature and the state's House delegation?

Don't forget that that part of the country ain't too smart. Virginia elected a governor whose sole platform was to bark "critical race theory" over and over and over without even understanding what it is.

Virginia and the Carolinas are beautiful places witb a preponderance of ugly people. I can't see the Democrats ever doing better there than fighting the Republipigs to a draw.

But hell, maybe by 2028, Trump's approval rating will have dropped to 3% and the only place to elect a Republipig will be the district in which David's home town of Bum Fuck, Texas is located.
