Postal Service to be moved to Department of Commerce

Seems like a good idea, US Mail is majority business letters, bills and advertising.  Very few people send letters these days.

Article I, Section 8, Clause 7 of the United States Constitution gave Congress exclusive power to establish the postal system. It states:

“[The Congress shall have Power . . . ] To establish Post Offices and post Roads;...”

And your point is?

Trump is acting illegally by shutting down the USPS and moving it to a different agency. As such the litigation costs and the startup costs for a new USPS when the next President takes office will astronomically exceed any savings.

President Trump is suggesting moving the Postal Service to another agency to manage it's operation. He is not shutting down anything. Christ, you are ignorant.

He can't do that; he doesn't have the authority. Never mind what Millerscum says.

Well, I can read and apprently you cannot.   If you move it another agency, it is no longer an agency established by Congress.  Furthermore, it is the only agency whose establishment is spelled out in the Constution.  If Trump wants to diddle with the Post Office, he has to go through Congress.  If not moving it to Commerce is illegal.  Since it is being illegaly shut down, there will be years of litigation. And eventually, the next President will come in after the courts declare the new arragment Uncounstutional  and he or she will simply restart the USPS at an enormous cost.

Just what words do you not understand? Once again, President Trump IS NOT SHUTTING DOWN the Postal Service - he is moving it to another government agency to MANAGE IT.

If you move it to another agency it no longer exists as an independent agency established by Congress. Only Congress has that authority.

Add it to his list of accomplishments that aren't lowering grocery prices or creating jobs.

Any word on who he's putting in charge? I think the MyPillow retard is available.
