It's too late. "The best" was thrown in the crapper the moment we (re-)elected the Turd. We all KNEW his craving to appear strong would "Trump" his professed desire to keep the.US out of foreign wars.

All we can hope for is that our intelligence agencies, gutted of personnel and deprived of non-MAGA leadership as they may be, can detect and thwart whatever reprisals Iran attempts. Our troops won't be involved. The target will be somewhere with a lot of civilians, like an airliner or a football stadium.

I'm sure the Americans who are killed in the counterattack will be consoled that they helped to validate the Turd's manhood.

Iran had fair warning and opportunities to negotiate.  Why throw all the shade at Trump and none at Iran's leadership?

I am praying.

I pray the US is militarily/weapons stronger, and wiser post 9/11 gargantuan security lapses.

Right there with you Brent.

Rest easy.

Trump got rid of the Director in charge of fighting homeland terorrism.    His 20 years of experience in that field was considered un-noteworthy by the woke purge of DEI employees.

His replacement is 22 year old THOMAS FUGATE

Thomas has no professional work experience of any kind.  He just graduated college shortly before Trump took office.    He was an intern at the Heritage Foundation and a big MAGA guy.     And most  importantly - he's not black, gay, or non-Christian.     And who needs experience when you're white?

Thomas Fugate has no experience in security, intelligence, or public service but is now the head of the US' efforts against terrorism - 9GAG

Because we don't have the right to drop bombs on countries we don't like. And Presidents don't have the authority to drop bombs on a country just because another country's supporters have given him big bags of cash.

Why "throw shade" at Trump?:Because he explicitly promised he wouldn't get us involved in foreign wars. Personally, I "throw shade" at liars and people who break promises. AS SHOULD WE ALL. We sure as shit shouldn't be electing them to high office!

We can all pray until we turn purple, but what will happen is that people will die as a result of Trump's manly manhood exercise. Probably Iranians. Definitely Israelis. And unless we're very, very lucky...lots of Americans.

And Candy...the so-called "opportunities to negotiate" were nothing more than strident demands. We had a treaty with Iran. Trump broke it. Why should they treat with him now?

Let me ask you: if any other country told US, "Destroy all your nuclear weapons or we will make war on you," what would be your reaction? Would you "throw shade" at that country's leader?

There's a hidden benefit in Trump's appointments of utterly unqualified MAGAs to critical positions: the agencies they head won't be able to do anything but blunder around. I just hope he doesn't start raiding Los Angeles "looking for Iranian terrorists "

Any anti-terrorism agency worth its salt should start by taking out the worst terrorist in the world today: Trump. But Fugate won't do that, because he doesn't want to go back to bagging groceries at Piggly Wiggly
