Crime is down drastically in almost every city. Trump wants you to get used to the idea of having Federal Military in your streets. He's using "out of control crime" as the excuse. Good thing he has lots of people like Nines who willingly fall for it.

What Checks and Balances do you honestly think are in place in the current environment?
Sepearation of Powers means cities and states patrol their own streets for local crime. And they dont enforce Federal crime. Thats how our country was designed
You have a Supreme Court that has openly declared the sitting US president had immunity from committing crimes.
You have a Senate and House that is completely oblivious to the president taking in BILLIONS OF DOLLARS from foriegn entities directly into his pocket. And they have completely surrendered their power to manage commerce and taxes to a president who imposes a different tariff policy on a daily basis. Jesus, they cant even stand up to a crackhead in the CDC who is telling people vaccines and tylenol are toxic.
You have a president that publicly orders his DOJ to go after political opponents even when the DOJ lawyers say there is no evidence. Same for members of the FED who he orders investigated for made up crimes. Same for media companies, universities, and public companies.
Where are the checks and balances from the Republican Senate to object. I haveny seen any yet.
And now he wants FEDERAL armed forces to go and patrol our city streets.

PJ...I've always said and thought Trump says too many things too loud and too self-serving; he has no off switch and he at times needs one. There's too much bluster and he has no respect for any kind of 'quiet'. Many of his actions in this term are obviously about retribution / revenge vs justice as I stated in an earlier post in this thread. I don't agree with some of the things he's done and will do nor the way he presents them. At the same time, there are some conservative principles / policies he adheres to that I've supported my entire life..be they right or wrong in your or anybody else's eyes. At my age, those tenets are not going to change .It's my business regardless of the degree of persecution doled out by you and your herdmates.
By all means... I didn't ask you to agree with me nor will I. Make your own choices and mistakes..it's the corny old American way. Just don't dictate to me how to live or whom / what to support or reject. I can promise you I'll do the same for you. When we disagree, which would be often, I'd hope we both had enough sense to allow some tolerance for opposing views, which in the end is a damned sight more civil than use of sewer language and degradative name calling / labeling. Those actions just culminate in an endless hyperloop of chaos with no possibility for any kind of meaningful outcome. That happens specifically in here constantly; does that outcome ever get old / tiresome to you or do you thrive on it?
Checks and balances ? The courts..they've already curtailed a few of his actions. / attempts. And no, I don't need to be reminded that SCOTUS leans conservative for any cases that might end up there.
Nothing on my list above is "bluster" or "saying things too loud".
There's really nothing to agree or disagree about when it comes to a sitting president taking BILLIONS of dollars from foreign entities and special interest groups directly into his pocket. Checks and balances only apply to the extent the other branches are willing to engage. The Scotus and Congress are both sitting back with their arms folded in the context of all the things I listed. How many lines does he have to cross before anyone does something?
