President Issues Guidelines to "Slow the Spread of the Coronavirus"

I think that horse has done left the barn.

Everybody's going to be exposed. It's far too late to prevent it. All that can be done now is social isolation, not to keep people from contracting Covid-19, but to stagger the cases over time. That will give hospitals a chance to ramp up.

I actually agree with several of the things Trump said today. Of course, he had actual smart people standing behind him and poking him in the ass. He also couldn't refrain from just a little bit of the "blame China" bullshit. But it was much less deranged than his earlier press conferences.

What I want to see is financial relief for all the people who are being and will be impacted economically. If we go into a depression, that will ultimately be more harmful than the virus itself--and that includes deaths. A LOT of people die, every year, from being poor.

I also really, really object to throwing $51 billion at the airline industry. What's so special about them that they deserve bailout money and all the other industries that are being affected don't? Weren't they going great guns with record sales just a few months ago and complaining that the grounding of the MAX was going to cripple them? Because our government and society are still largely controlled by conservatives, our government wants to throw billions at big corporations rather than help the people. Same old %$#&@ same old.

And from Kevin, the same old crap. He is NEVER happy. Tune in later for more from Mr. Know - It- All Kevin.

I think the lockdowns across the country will have a positive impact.   That seems to be the common denominator with other countries stopping it.    I sure hope so.

i don’t know about all of you but I am heavily invested in the US economy and have no interest seeing it fall down longer than it needs to.

Yeah, but there are hordes of people out there who wouldn't mind if ten million people died, as long as Trump got reelected. If the economy collapses, Trump will just declare martial law and make himself king for life, or something. The Senate will rubber-stamp him. And the Trumper hordes will cheer! And cheer! And cheer!

You care about this country, and so do I, but Trumpers don't. They care about Trump. I only care about him to the extent that I'm glad he got up off his golf-playing ass after two months and is finally starting to do something. Better late than never.

The only way you can convince a sicko narcissist to do good is to convince him that it is also in his own best interests. Somebody actually woke Trump up, and I'd love to know who it was.
