The President of the United States of America, flips off a heckler

I don't remember any democrats complain when Biden did it.

Somehiw Biden always gets a waiver in their eyes

Walz curses all the time

I agree. People who call themselves democrats will often give Democrat politicians a pass for all sorts of things. Also people who call themselves republican will often give Republican politicians a pass.

I really feel that for anything to improve we have to try to get away from partisan politics.

"There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution."  - John Adams

Apparently when biden said it in Detroit to an auroworker, it was ok

From 2020

The worker accused Biden of “actively trying to end our Second Amendment right.” Biden immediately responded: “You’re full of s---.”

“It’s a viral video like the other ones that came out” that were “lies,” Biden said. “Don’t be such a horse’s a--,” Biden added as the exchange grew more heated.

But it ok for democrats to curse

Biden wasn't the President when he said it. I never mentioned Biden or said I thought it was OK for him to say it. Your post seems to indicate you think it's OK for Trump to flip off a heckler and say, "f*** you". If so, why are you concerned if Dems curse?

There was no uproar when biden did it. Liberal double standard

There is no uproar that Trump flipped off a factory worker; I was just saying I thought it was juvenile and unbecoming of a President.

Well, then, ain't it great that we have a party that regards the Constitution as toilet tissue holding absolute power?

Was that sarcasm or a question I am supposed to answer? I'm leaning towards sarcasm. But just in case. No, I do not think it is great.

One intellectual error you seem to be constantly making is to say that the Democrat and the Republican violations of the Constitution have been equal. Nothing could be further from the truth.

In fact, a large part of what has historically crippled the Democratic party is coming to the defense of unpopular groups: women (as voters), blacks, gays, trans, Hispanics, FEELTHY IMMERGENTS, etc. Many (I daresay most) Americand think of civil rights and human rights as: "Well, of course, not THEM." And the Republican party rushes to belt out that sweet song.

MAGA has solidified and refined this message, that only straight white males who vote Trump have any Constitutional rights or protections.

When did I ever say the violations are equal?

Where in any of my criticisms of Democrats did I oppose equal rights to the marginalized groups you have mentioned?

Where in any of my posts have I stated or implied that some people deserve unequal treatment under the law or unequal constitutional protections?

I think your (understandable) disdain for maga has caused you to misinterpret my words and look for  meaning that isn't there.

The government's primary job is to protect the rights of every individual with whom they interact. Regardless of race, immigration status, sexual orientation, or whatever label or identity they may have.

You've said many times that Democrats commit as many Constitutional violations as Republicans. And I never said that you're opposed to equal rights.

However, you have, perhaps in an attempt to be conciliatory to our MAGAs, made false equivalence arguments that appear to excuse Republicans of their myriad horrid crimes by saying, "Well, everybody does it." You're entitled to your opinion, but... oooookay.

This could be just your natural inclination to avoid being confrontational, which I respect. However, any attempt to rationally converse or discuss icky stuff like civil rights with MAGAs is like trying to persuade an SS officer that maybe he should be nicer to the Jews.

At any rate, I think that the only honest way to deal with MAGA is to be brutally honest about what they want, what they do, and most of all, who and what they are. Failure to recognize, state, and address the profound evil they represent just emboldens them and makes them more powerful.

In other words, we have to stop playing nice.

Where did I ever say the violations happen to the same frequency or to the same extent?  Just because I mention them in the same post doesn't mean they're the same frequency or degree.

I won't belabor the point. I'm just observing that "Them, too! Them, too!" isn't a valid defense at any time, including third grade recess. I may be overreacting, because that's exactly what our resident MAGA pigs oink out whenever we remark on their orange master's latest crimes.

It may have been 60/40 Republicans vs. Democrats in terms of willful violations of the Constitution in the past, but Jesus, now it's 99/1. And they're capering and gibbering in celebration of the murder of Renee Gold.

"Democrats have done xyz as well" doesn't fly with me, because the magnitude and egregiousness of what Trump and MAGA are doing are unprecedented in US history. If that's not what you're saying, I apologize.
