President Trump Acquitted of Both Impeachment Charges

The Senate acquitted President Donald Trump for his dealings with Ukraine on Wednesday, culminating months of bitter partisan clashes over accusations he tried to cheat in the 2020 election by pressuring the U.S. ally to investigate political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.

The Republican-led Senate voted to acquit Trump on two articles of impeachment - abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, was the only senator to cross party lines by voting to convict for abuse of power.

Yet, the majority of Senators believed he was guilty. And better yet the actual convict vote is bi-partisan. Trump is a fascist authoritarian and in the years to come people that supported him including those here will wear an awful stain on their soul.

The Republicans decided to sing along with Mitch--not Mitt.

I have a lot more respect for Romney, since he did the right thing and will probably catch holy hell (Mormon version) for it. I have a lot less respect for Republicans.

Let's get together and run those asshole Republicans out of office, one by one.

This is an opportunity for our Trumper scum to crow and preen, and I expect nothing less. They are so stupid, they don't realize what a setback for our nation this was.

DonDiego is balls-on accurate.   President Trump was aquitted.   The best part is he used the same lawyer as OJ Simpson ...and the jury reached the same verdict...and they used the  same reasoning.    "The defendant was guilty but we just dont give a shit"

Makes ya proud, doesn't DD?

Um, . . . no.  Poor old DonDiego isn't sufficiently personally involved to have any emotional response.

And DonDiego hopes President Trump continues his successful Presidency so long as the citizenry continues to support him.

Don Diego's idea of success is a criminal enterprise.

And I hope that Trump's presidency, as long as it may last, continues to be the utter failure that it has been so far--and that Trumpers continue to call it a success, to feed his (and their) continuing delusions. He's less dangerous when he's placated.

The longer he lasts, the more shit will have to be fixed when he finally slinks away. But at least he'll be a one-term President. I don't think anyone who voted for Trump, having abused the privilege, should be allowed to vote again, much as a person who runs over three people and crashes into a storefront should have his license revoked.

The proportion of the citizenry who support Trump is a distinct minority, and thank God for that, at least, but it's disturbing when you realise that roughly 3 of every 7 people you meet are evil, stupid assholes.

One must admit, Trump has been perhaps the most successful criminal in the history of the United States. Something for him to be proud of and our Trumpers to cheer!

Keep on crying you imbeciles - 4 more years of MAGA.  I am sure that Pukelosi and her little Schitt will keep on making shit up, after all, that is all they do.

As I said, the Trumper scum are cheering for their criminal hero.
