Price of a barrel of oil today: $109.60 Exactly eight years ago: $115.19

But for some mysterious reason, gasoline at the pump was a whole lot cheaper back then.

Any guesses why?

The simple answer: the price of gasoline has absolutely nothing to do with its cost.

The oil companies gauge what they can get people to pay for their products, then tweak production so as to maintain prices as high as possible. Then those products are used as chips in the giant worldwide casino known as the petroleum futures market.

What we poor slobs have to pay for gas would be the same if the Great Lakes were full of crude oil rather than water, or if we had to get it from the moon. It's what the oil companies say we should pay. Period.

Oh, oh, wait, I forgot, I watched Fox News last night, and now I know: everything is Biden's fault. He hath decreed that gas will be $6 a gallon nationwide! Why would he do that? BECUZ HE WANTS TO BE UNPOPULAR!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAA!

(Oh, and if you doubt the above, please explain why gas was still $2+ a gallon even when the price of crude oil dropped below $0.)

Why did shares of Pelaton go for $300 ?  same reason

If only Biden would support franking.  But instead, it's dramatic limitations on gas flairing and no new gas or oil pipelines.  What a cluster this Democrat party is making.

Kevin will tell us that the oil companies should use the pipelines where oil is no longer produced.  Kevin  is too stupid to know what he doesn't know.

And Boilerman is too stupid to spell ''fracking'' that he calls it ''franking''.

Also, the ''Purdue'' educated idiot thinks that ''new gas or oil pipelines'' will magically and instantly make gas prices lower.

Perhaps Buttocks-Boil should re-read about when his orange hero had the Saudi's cut oil production in 2020.

Boiler will keep on bleating that the poor poor helpless oil companies would be drilling up a storm but gosh dang it, that no-good Biden won't let 'em.

We've already pointed out that in recent earnings calls, EVERY major oil company CEO stated that his company was throttling back production in order to keep prices high.

Boiler ignores that, of course, because it contradicts his narrative. He also ignores the fact that there are currently over 4,000 permitted drilling sites in the US that haven't been touched. If he admitted that, his bleats would blow up in his face.

Boiler is a lying coward.

We had this conversation already....I provided transcripts from oil companies and ceo interviews..   Boilerman countered that with a conversation he had with a friend - and the Republican Senator from Alaska who (believe it or not) had bad things to say about the Democrat President.

Readers are free to determine who made the case better and with better sources.      And thanks for stopping by !

Are Dems limiting flaring?  Are Dems not allowing pipeline construction.  We all know the answer.  These two policies are shutting down wells today.  Can't flare, and can't move the gas to market.

Are you guys really arguing this point?  It's easy to research if you don't buy my story.

The "Dems" have restricted the construction of certain pipelines. That isn't the same as "not allowing pipeline construction"--that's hyperbole, not fact.

But that's irrelevant to the current supply and price of gasoline. Boiler somehow thinks that oil can't be transported unless it's in a pipeline (what an idiotic thought for someone who styles himself as a fossil fuel expert!).. He also seems to think that the issue is supply, when it's really production. The fossil fuel companies have more than enough crude.

Also, since pipelines can't be moved after they're constructed, at least not without massive effort and expense, the fossil fuel companies aren't going to build pipelines to the vast majority of their wells. The revenue won't justify the expense. Of course, they'll blame Biden for their own decisions--and Boiler will believe them.

Being a rah-rah boy for the fossil fuel industry has made Boiler lose whatever objectivity he might have had.

Kevin, with any oil well comes gas.  What do they do with the gas?  Current wells are being shut down.  Do your own research.

Never mind, I know that you don't want to know.
