Proof that liberal policies don't work...oh WAIT!!

From 1948 through 2023, the party holding the presidency has changed hands ten times. Every time a Republican took over from a Democrat, GDP growth fell. Every time a Democrat took over from a Republican, GDP growth rose. GDP grew 4.1% on average under Democrats, versus 2.5% under Republicans, from 1945 through the second quarter of 2020, a difference of 1.6 percentage points.

Ten of the eleven U.S. recessions between 1953 and 2020 began under Republican presidents.

For the 13 presidents beginning with Truman, total job creation was about 70.5 million for the 7 Democratic presidents and 29.1 million for the 6 Republican presidents. This monthly average rate was 2.4 times faster under Democratic presidents.

The only presidents to actually lose jobs during their administrations were Hoover (Republican) and Trump (Republican).

From 1945 to 2020, corporate earnings per share, a key measure of corporate profitability, grew 12.8% on average under Democratic presidents, versus 1.8% for Republicans.

The Republican South has the highest incidence of maternal mortality, spousal abuse, and bad credit.

And moving outside the USA...The top five happiest countries with the most satisfied citizens are the very liberal (by US standards) Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland.

But...but...but...what about the seventy billion people FLEEING California every four seconds??????? Their population should be in the negative trillions by now.

Fleein', ah tells ya! Fleein'!!!

Mister, I just reviewed real GNP by year for the past 75 years.  You really should stop listening to Liberal rags.  This data can only be found by Conservatives,  as it requires Googling the subject.

Boiler believes any "source" that tells him what he wants to believe. MP referred to Gross Domestic Product. Boiler refers to "real" something something which can only be "found" by conservatives?? Must be them "alternate facts" we hear so much about. LOL!!!

You stated "every time a Republican took over from a Democrat, GDP fell". I think you might recheck your facts regarding GDP figures when Reagan took over from Carter. If you're going to make broad claims, then we ought to have the option to cherry pick your assertions. You're ( or whatever source you obtained it from) wrong on this particular comparison.. Sorry, Cap'n. *l*

GDP GROWTH, he said. There have been very few years overall when GDP itself shrank. He's right--the rate of GDP growth has decreased every time a Republican has taken over the Presidency from a Democrat.

But Ronny Raygun built a whole bunch o'cool bombs and stuff and scared them Rooskies into becoming peace-loving pussycats, which has, uh, worked out just fine...

Um, I've never met an accounting grad who does know what real GNP is, and Kevin does not hold this degree.

Uh, I've never met someone who claims to have information on the economy that only conservatives can access.

Dumb, Boiler. And BTW GNP and GDP are not the same thing. Dumb, Boiler.

Kevin is correct that the acronym is now GDP. I often incorrectly say GNP, as that's what it was called while I got my Finance degree from Purdue.

I just pulled up 60 years of data on GDP.  Only two years did it decrease...Obama's first year and Biden's first year.

To prove me wrong Kevin only needs to provide the official data from the US government.   When I do so, Kevin claims that the federal data is wrong, or fake, or something.

I'm waiting.

I can Google too!  The only difference is unlike Boilerman I dont lie about what I found...nor am I too embarrassed to show my source.

Wikipedia breaks down the stats by several categories.

- 5 of top 6 GDP growth admins were Democrats.

- Federal Budget deficits are smaller under Democrats

- Stock MArket performance 8.6% under Democrats.   2.78% under Republicans

- Inflation Rate.   2.89% Dems.   3.44 Republicans

- unemployment rate 5.64% Dems.  6.01%  Republicans

Data doesnt mention how the only two impeached presidents in the modern era are both Republicans.   We'll just ignore that for now and stick with the measurable statistics.

Happy Trails!
