Rainbow and Emerald Island

My mistake - yes we both got $20 cash back.  Kind of nice actually getting it in cash too......just like the gold old days!

I definitey second it - anybody reading this should give this place a few hours and just see it.  Anytime I can play vp with good music is a rarity these days.  I'll be back for sure.

The coup de grace is when you're happily banging the buttons and a guy rolls up a cart with free snacks (donuts, cake, ice cream bars)...or when 6pm rolls around and everybody gets free pizza, chili dogs, or tacos. Or 8pm with the free Baskin-Robbins or root beer floats. Or when you get to take an electronic spin to win $$ just for sitting there.

As you note, there's no big whiz-bang promos where somebody might (might) win $1000 or $5000. Instead, they spread it around. I win $20. You win $50. Everyone's happy.

Next time you go, sneak a peek at the point totals on some of the regulars' machines. Points are so easy to score during multiplier periods, you see a lot of people with a million points or more (which would translate to $666 in food or retail).

The place obviously makes money, even with all those giveaways and the loose machines (I have no way of confirming, but I get the impression that their slots are pretty loose, which is usually the case in a loose VP house). Give a little, get a little. 20 years ago, all the locals' casinos thought that way. Now, the EI/Rainbow is pretty much the last outpost of good gambling value.

Anyone who hasn't been there, I strongly recommend you check it out. The LVA coupons make it dang near compulsory :)

Wife and I are going back in November..  Sadly, we have never been to the EI/Rainbow, but will need to stop in for a few hours with the LVA coupon book in the back pocket.  We both love great deals and loose machines.

Thanks to you and Jerry for the great info.

We seem to prefer Rainbow club, mainly because it is less crowded and less smokey, and great for breakfast. Also like The Pass for good comps and the 7.50 food comps every.  week for min play  Pretty slow in there and ask for the country scramble to avoid the powdered eggs if getting scrambled eggs.  EI for us is too crowded and smokey, but the cafe is great.  Check them all out and find the one you like best  Rainbow has newer machines at the bar

I slightly prefer the Rainbow breakfast special to EI's--better sausages. I don't play at The Pass because the VP is far worse than at EI or Rainbow, and I don't need to earn any extra food comps anyway.

I agree the EI can get smoky, which is why I try to visit and play there at "odd" hours. Midafternoon is usually much less crowded, because fewer people are there to eat. After 9 pm and until the cafe starts breakfast at 7 am, the place is an absolute tomb, especially on weeknights.

Rainbow's bartop schedules were much poorer than the machines on the floor last time I looked, but my intel might not be up to date, as i rarely check bartop schedules, since they almost always suck. If you do play at the bar, they have an interesting little four of a kind promo.
