Random Notes from CHAZ

The Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone [CHAZ] was recently established in a Seattle neighborhood when protesters occupied a Seattle neighborhood police station, and the local police and onsight National Guard personnel pulled out.

*** CHAZ now has a "heavily-armed warlord" enforcing the streets.  He is a "soundcloud rapper" named Raz Simone.  Protestors have been heard discussing the fact that they didn't know how he became the leader or anyone who voted for him.

*** Shortly after the occupation homeless people were invited to share food with the occupiers in a celebration.  The next day the occupiers noted:  "The homeless people we invited took away all the food at CHAZ.  We need more food to keep the area operational. Please if possible bring vegan meat substitutes, fruits, oats, soy products, etc. - anything to help us eat."

*** Inhabitants of CHAZ are demanding defunding/abolishing the Seattle Police Department and Seattle Court System

*** Inhabitants of CHAZ are demanding retrial of all People of Color currently imprisoned for violent crime

*** Inhabitants of CHAZ are demanding decriminalization of acts of protest and amnesty for protestors generally - including themselves

*** Inhabitants of CHAZ are demanding prisoners currently serving time and, specifcally, that felons be granted the right to vote;  beyond this the inhabitants of CHAZ demand the abolishment of imprisonment altogether

***.Inhabitants of CHAZ demand  the funds now supporting the Police Department be redirected into Socialized Medicine, Free Public Housing, Public education, Naturization of undocumented "immigrants" living in the United States

Oh, and:

___Free college for all citiens of Washington State

___De-gentrification of Seattle

And there's more demands:

___ that hospitals hire Black doctors and Black nurses to treat Black patients

___ that the people of Seattle support Black-owned businesses

And there's more, . . . . but so what, . . .

Ref: Demands

*** If any of this actually works, . . . poor old DonDiego is gonna occupy a police station ! ! !

''Old,tired act''

Learn to read, dumb fuck.

And stop looking for men here.

If Boilerman had of been looking for men here, you would not need to worry, toad.

Golly, it seems Don Diego has shit his breeches over nothing.

1.  They didn't occupy it.  The PD abandoned it.

...facing a growing backlash over its dispersal tactics in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death in Minneapolis, the Seattle Police Department this week offered a concession: Officers would abandon their building, board up the windows and let the protesters have free rein outside.

2. It sure sounds horrible.

What has emerged is an experiment in life without the police — part street festival, part commune. Hundreds have gathered to hear speeches, poetry and music. On Tuesday night, dozens of people sat in the middle of an intersection to watch “13th,” the Ava DuVernay film about the criminal justice system’s impact on African-Americans. On Wednesday, children made chalk drawings in the street.

3.  Somebody lied and the conservative media ate it up.  Don Diego was delighted to be a willing dupe.

Carmen Best, the police chief, said in a video message on Thursday that the decision to leave the police station was not hers and that she was angry about how it developed. She also shared, without evidence, concerns about problems in the area, such as businesses being asked to pay money in exchange for protection.

Ms. Best said later in the day that nobody had made a formal report and that those issues were just circulating on places like social media. The Capitol Hill Business Alliance said it had been reaching out to businesses in the area and found no reports of any such problems. In other words, she went to David Miller's usual source.

4.  Oh, my! There are collaborators and they brought porta-potties.

The protest zone has increasingly functioned with the tacit blessing of the city. Harold Scoggins, the fire chief, was there on Wednesday, chatting with protesters, helping set up a call with the Police Department and making sure the area had portable toilets and sanitation services.

5.  I suggest Don Degio take a few minutes to unknot his panties.

Lookie, I'll even link my source something Don Diego was unwilling to do.

Boiler gets all of his dates from here.

Mark giggles: "Lookie, I'll even link my source something Don Diego was unwilling to do."

Mark is mistaken; the link is the word "Demands" at the end of the post.

Silly Me!  But you didn't provide a link to your hyperbolic claims above the demands you listed. It also seems there are various lists of "demands" from various groups. From the article, I linked to.

The demonstrators have also been trying to figure it out, with various factions voicing different priorities. A list of three demands was posted prominently on a wall: one, defund the Police Department; two, fund community health; and three, drop all criminal charges against protesters.

But on a nearby fence, there was a list of five demands. Online was a list of 30.

I'm sorry - is this one of those threads where our resident Trump cheerleaders  pretend like they're fiscal hawks  and warn about the dangers of government giveaways?    Even in the context of the shit their administration created on that front?  And after cashing in their Venezeula check?

It is?  Oh..ok then.

I'd participate but there's something more intellectually stimulating on TV.
