How is that any different from what Trump did? You want him to be president again. So who are you kidding about having a problem with someone who cowardly stokes the insurrection without actually being on the front line?

Well said......and true. Trump told Pence days before Jan. 6th that he was going to inspire hatred in hundreds of thousands of people. Interesting that Pence was in the Capitol when this all went down, and after he had not backed up Trump about overturning the 2020 election results.
America sees all this but David and his ilk are in denial.
The nation has pretty much settled the question of whether Jan. 6 was an insurrection (it was) and whether it was led by Trump (it was). Any MAGA who claims otherwise is simply in stupid-denial mode.
And why is that? Well, it's something called cognitive dissonance:
1. I am a noble, brilliant, and morally impeccable person.
2. I support and have supported a man who is a traitor, con man, rapist, and insurrectionist.
These two thoughts are incompatible. Now, the way to resolve this conflict is to acknowledge that one of those statements is actually false:
1. I am actually a conspiracy theory-swallowing scumbag.
2. It's all FAKE NOOZE and a WITCH HUNT. Trump has done NUTHIN' wrong!

There was no insurrection.
What? This was a violent uprising against the government in reaction to Trump not winning the election. There was vandalism and looting, the rioters assaulted Capitol police officers and reporters. Forceably entering a government building and causing the mayhem they did, was an insurrection. Pure and simple.
