Reagan-Mondale debate ; the Age issue

Warning: this video contains humor - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoPu1UIBkBc

There's interesting context here. This moment was scripted; Reagan knew the question would be asked and his press secretary, Larry Speakes, wrote the answer a few days before the debate. Mondale had actually beaten Reagan rather soundly in the first debate, and Reagan's staff knew they'd have to deflect the age question. Reagan, the professional actor, delivered his lines flawlessly, and the campaign was effectively over (not that Mondale had ever had a realistic chance).

I can't help but contrast this depiction of age as an asset with the endless, tiresome comments about Biden's age. I guess being old is only bad if you're a Democrat.

I'd like to thank David for reminding us of a time when the most memorable joke of a presidential campaign was a genuinely funny self-deprecating remark and not some orange asshole flapping his arms and mocking a disabled person.

Scripted or not ( where is your "proof", Lewis) what he said was right on and still applies today. Are you in the habit of flapping you arms when you spew your lies?

Funny how age wasnt a big problem for the Reagan-ites.   But Joe Biden being old is like....the worst thing ever.  Its almost like they really dont believe their own bullshit and are just a bunch of crybabies.

Hmm.  Food for thought,

Thought - that is the key word here. Reagan could and did and brain dead Biden can't and never will.

Ah, "still applies today"...so, because of his age and experience, you've become a Biden supporter!!!

I knew you'd see the light.

Look up the word "comprehension" - then try reading and "comprehending" what I wrote. If you need help, ask a second grader - one you havn't brainwashed with your lying liberal spewings.

David, you may not realize, when you talk out of your mouth and your ass simultaneously, there's a lot of dissonance:

BIDEN IS OLD!!! THAT BAD!!!!!!!

REAGAN WAS OLD!!! THAT GOOD!!!!!!!

See what I mean? Of course you do. You're just too chickenshit to admit it.
