I voted for Biden, but I must admit, I equate his Afghanistan withdrawal disaster with Carter's handing of the Iraq hostage crisis, definitely a blackeye for the U.S. internationally. Welcome back BTW. Looking forward to more lively debate

Biden had a choice between leaving US troops there indefinitely and pulling out. Neither choice was particularly palatable. I'm CERTAIN that had he made the choice to stay, and US troops were dying in combat while trying to prop up the Afghan army, the various conservative punditards--and people like Stalker--would be screaming just as loud and long about that choice as they are about the choice he actually made now.

Now how could you know about Obiden's lunacy concerning the troop withdrawl from Afganistan if you had not viewed the video I posted?  Once again, you have exposed yourself as a liar.

The information I'm basing my opinion on was gathered from all three cable news networks, ( CNN, MSNBC, and even the dreaded Fox News network), and not Facebook, there's no spin on the situation being metered out by any of the networks, all are questioning the how something could go wrong so fast.God help the Afghan population, especially the women.

I disagree. I remember when Bush initially invaded Afganistan and arguing with folks on Internet forums back then how this was a dire mistake and that we should have learned from the Russian failures in Afganistan. What the rapid collapse of the government we propped up, tells me is that we gained absolutely nothing for the American lives lost and the 20 years we spent there. It ought to be a shameful moment for anyone that supported George Bush and his initial invasion and occupation. It took real political courage to take the hit for pulling out.  Why do you think the occupation lasted 20 years?  We could stay there another 20 years and still get the same result.

Welcome back David.

Afganistan has been a problem for every nation that have fought there. Obiden and the Military fools he put into place are just now realizing that the taliban could care less about the destruction they are currently doing. These Obiden morans thought (?) that the taliban would not strike so suddenly and over run Afganistan as quickly as they have. And, just like Benghazi, these morons were unable to have enough sense to vacate the U S Embassy BEFORE recalling the troops. Now, Afganistan and all of the Afgans are being over run and killed by these animals and all Obiden had to say is that the Afgans are on their own. If President Trump had done this and said what Obiden said the media and the DemocRats would be screaming bloody murder and would be calling for impeachment. The rest of the world knows that Obiden is a gutless, brain dead traitor who is in the process of ruining America.

History views the fall of Saion as a huge tragedy - but not a foreign policy mistake of the US.   And that will be the same view of Afghanistan.

Taliban rule will certainly lead to oppression of women and deaths of Western sympathizers.   That is not an outcome anyone is cheering for.   But its also been 20 years of occupation with the propped up government in Afghanistan outnumbered and unable to hold any territory for even a month on their own.    Anyone who says its a mistake to leave is obligated to show how staying another 20 years with countless lives and trillions of dollars will lead to a different outcome.    (An Facebook memes dont count as policy)

You cant impose democracy on those who dont want it.

Welcome back David.

We went in to Afghanistan because of what happened on 9/11/2001, we did severely cripple Al Qaeda but it took us another 10 years to finally kill Bin laden. That's when we should have left.

If you want to blame Bush for invading, that's your prerogative, you're just omitting the main reason why this all started, Mission accomplished BTW

David, thank you so much for reminding everyone what an utter piece of garbage President George W. Bush was. Remember when the Iraq War was going to pay for itself? Remember when the Afghan people were going to take up American values and become a western-style democracy?  Remember when it was going to all work out - "next year" (x 20)?

Twenty years later Iraq is a mess, Afghanistan is gone, and as a result, Iran's influence is strong than ever. All the doubters and the hippies have been proven right once again.

In fairness, anyone who supported Bush in this should refrain from voting ever again. And have yourself sterilized - if it's not too late. It's the least you can do.

As is usual, when ever a lying, truth twisting liberal can not defend the traitor Obiden they divert the topic to someone else who has nothing to do with Obiden's handling of the current Afganistan withdrawal fiasco.--- For the record, since the fraudlent inaugration, 1)- inflation is running @ 7.8% ( compared to 0.08% when President Trump left office in January), 2)- the ongoing border crisis, some 200 thousand illegals just last month, with over 1 million since January, thousands of childern in cages, thousands testing covid positive and being bused into cities all across America and released 3)- the US is no longer energy independant, gasoline prices up $1/ gallon or more across the nation, 4)- CRT, the lying, racist brain washing of America's youth and 5)- the Afgan withdrawl  fiasco - all in less than 8 months. Lest we forget the asinine "defund the police" policies instituted and the resulting increase in crime across America, especially in DemocRat run cities. Obiden, Pelosi, Cuomo and the rest of the America hating DemocRats have acquired quite a track record.--- As time goes on, America and Americans can expect more of the same as this traitorous administration ruins America.
