Red state stupid

Twenty states are lifting lockdowns, business closures, and social distancing, effective today.

Thank God I don't live anywhere near any of those states. My county is still locked down. It has had a total of four cases, two of whom have already recovered. No deaths.

Trump ordered pork plants to stay open. Now, their workers have to make the choice between showing up and risking their lives, or staying home and losing their unemployment benefits. Yay economic stimulus!

Trump, in another shoot-the-messenger moment, went ballistic at the person who told him that his poll numbers are tanking, particularly among seniors. EIGHTY percent of the country thinks it's too soon to open back up. That must include even the majority of Trumpers!

Far from the national unity shtick touted by both sides, the coronavirus is exposing the worst of this country and the deep incompetence of Republican governance. However, apparently more and more people are finally admitting to themselves that maybe the Orange Asshole isn't doing such a wonderful job after all.

I know what our resident Trumptards will say, but I truly wish Trump had dealt with this crisis competently. I'd even put up with his reelection if that meant that our tens of thousands of deaths could be reversed.

I think Trump is mad because he realizes that if he had acted on the information he was given in early January, he could have saved lives and been hailed as a hero--and would certainly have been reelected.

And by "acting," I don't mean imposing travel bans and then running off to play golf.

Once again Kevin post his hatred for the President. Kevin is the ONLY bad actor here, running off with his filthy mouth time and again, day after day.

Kevin Lewis writes: " . . . I'd even put up with his reelection if that meant that our tens of thousands of deaths could be reversed . . . "

Can Kevin Lewis describe noticeable differences which a keen observer might notice in Kevin Lewis' behavior if :

i. Kevin Lewis does put up with President Trump's re-election

ii. Kevin Lewis does not put up with President Trump's re-election

It will take years, unimaginable treasure and, unfortunatly, many American lives to undo the damage that trump has caused to America.

Since there are no such differences, I can't provide DonDiego with the answer he craves.

I consider the lives and well-being of people (not just "our" people; everyone) to be far more important than corporate profits. I oppose Trump and the Republican Party because they think the exact opposite.

Since Trump's reelection is only hypothetical at this point, the bargain I proposed---70,000 American lives (retroactively) saved in return for four more years of a narcissistic asshole--cannot be struck. I'd need a time machine. But for DonDiego's edification, I would welcome a scenario where Trump suddenly, somehow, becomes a competent leader, if not an actually good man (let's be realistic), moves to save as many American lives as possible, regardless of ideological imperatives, and is reelected as a result. That would be preferable in my mind to Trump remaining Trump, 100,000 additional people dying, and him losing the election.

Our evil Trumptards have constantly screamed at me, saying I loathe Trump for no good reason.

I loathe him because he hurts people, and often for the stupidest of reasons.
