Red States and guns

Here's a fun story from my hometown, Indianapolis.

FULL STORY

Context:  Indiana allows people to legally conceal a firearm under their coat without any kind of permit.    Cause We're all safer that way.    That makes sense, right ?

But when a guy walks into a bar with his legally concealed weapon and decides to open fire and kill three people....then the bar is negligent for not screening and denying him entry for his LEGALLY CONCEALED WEAPON IN ACCORDANCE WITH INDIANA LAW.

So bottom line - Indiana says we're safer with concealed weapons...unless someone gets killed in your business under that protocol.  Then its your fault.

Kind of stupidly illogical to say that it's legal to carry concealed weapons and then blame a business for not forcibly searching its patrons? Couldn't the patrons have simply refused and been within their rights? Does Indiana law allow a business to refuse entry to someone who is armed?

MAGA and the gun love lobby have to admit to themselves once and for all that more guns means more killing. That simple fact is not in dispute. And to the NRA et al., those deaths are "worth it." Everybody gets to feel more manly when they're packing heat. And every last one of those gun lovers fantasizes about being Clint Eastwood and gunning down eight people because one of them criticized his mule (remember that scene? Lol.,).

People in Indy, I'm sure, amidst all the moaning, aren't willing to acknowledge that they're getting exactly what they voted for--more Second Amendment killing.

The people in Indy didnt vote for our state leadership.  We're at the mercy of our rural voters who put the NRA in charge of our gun policy - and then complain about our Democrat mayor for the resulting gun violence.
