Report: L.A. Water Chief Knew Fire Hydrants Not Working, Reservoir Offline

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) CEO Janisse Quiñones had knowledge that the Santa Ynez Reservoir was offline, and that fire hydrants were not working, according to a recent report. --Insiders with the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFP) reportedly told the DailyMail that Quiñones, who was hired in May on a $750,000 salary, is “being blamed” by the LAFD for leaving the Santa Ynez Reservoir in the Pacific Palisades disconnected as wildfires began in the Los Angeles area. The hydrants worked as they are designed.    ANd its the same in every municipality in the country including the ones Boilerman and Davey Facebook live in.

There's enough water pressure to put out individual fires that pop up anywhere in the city.  There isnt enough water pressure to put out 100 fires accross town at the same time.     There has never been a requirement for that in the past.   

But we live in different times now.  Going forward that may need to be addressed.    But thats all moot anyway.  You had hurricane stength winds fueling a fire.   No number of hyrdants or firefighters could stop it.     ANd the smelt fish issue wouldnt stop it.   And having a conservative mayor wouldnt stop it.   Mostly, conservative constipation wont stop it either.

A well-connected former senior LAFD officer told DailyMail.com that lack of water was already a “common” problem, made worse by DWP’s failure to repair shut-off fire hydrants. “Every year the fire department goes out and checks every hydrant,” he said. “For my entire career, we did this once a year and sent a report to our Hydrant Unit with any issues we encountered. Year after year, the same hydrants that had problems went unrepaired. “An example that comes to mind is the fire hydrants at Palisades High School in Temescal Canyon. They were often dry, we checked them. DWP knew they had problems and that it would take months to resolve them.

Last year the annual fire hydrant checks were handed back to DWP because the firefighters were literally too busy making calls. “I bet DWP didn’t do this. I’d like to see if they have the documents.’

LADWP did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In other news, apparently over 100 trucks were out of service

Over 100 fire apparatus are out of service, the fire chief said. The budget cuts eliminated civilian positions such as mechanics, which “did and has and will continue to severely impact our ability to repair apparatus,” Crowley said.

There also less firemen as the fire chief focuses on DEI hiring.

Inadequate volumes of water to fight fires.  No back up power when the shut was down power due to high winds.  This is absolute incompetence.

Climate change has heightened the frequency and intensity of wildfires. But conservitards have resisted all efforts to stop it or even slow it down. And Boiler, they call such efforts "woke." You retards so LUVVV that word!
