1. A federal district court in El Paso ruled the new Republican Congressional map unlawful. The issue will probably go to the Supreme Court, where Trump's lackeys have been neutral in their signaling. They have, however, shown great enthusiasm for destroying the Voting Rights Act, the violation of which was the basis for the El Paso lawsuit.
2. Indiana Republicans have denied Trump's decree for them to have a gerrymander party of their own. Apparently, they don't think it would be that effective or beneficial.
3. Efforts to challenge California's redistricting have crashed and burned, because it turns out, it's MUCH harder to fight a voter-approved initiative than to fight an undemocratic power grab by the ruling party. The Texas Putsch is in much more danger than the California initiative.
