The Republican plan to make inflation magically disappear

Since the Republican message has recently been "Inflation is all the Democrats' fault and all you have to do is vote for us and it'll go away," I've decided to, as a public service, list all the specific policies and strategies that the Republican party and/or its candidates have proposed to cure inflation.

The complete list is below:

They are offering the same plan the conservatives in the UK did unfunded tax cuts for the rich. Look how that turned out for a preview.

They're going to pack a bill with hundreds of billions in cultist climate change pork, double the size of the IRS and then label it 'Inflation Reduction Act'....even though it will clearly worsen inflation.  Oh wait.  That's the Democrat plan.

But don't take my word for it.  Ask the 369 Economists who signed the "Concerned Economists" letter about this folly.

[W]e agree with the urgent need to reduce inflation, but the “Inflation Reduction Act of 2022” is a misleading label applied to a bill that would likely achieve the exact opposite effect.

Or maybe just ask the CBO which sees no inflation reduction in the Democrat plan.

On the other side:

1. Republicans will try to reverse Joe Biden and the Democrats' war on fossil fuels.

2.  Republicans will want to claw back any unspent money from the various Democrat boondoggles that have contributed to this mess.

3.  Republicans will want to cut back on crippling Federal Government overreach/burdensome regulations and work on improving the supply side of this equation.

Of course that's going to be hard to pass without a Republican President and a Super Majority in the Senate but I hope to see serious common sense legislation addressing Biden's failed energy policy, Democrat overspending and Federal Government overreach.  Make the Democrats go on record rejecting real solutions to our economic problems and usher in a Republican sweep in '24.

Obama said to never underestimate Joe's ability to Fuck things up. Let's just hope Joe and the Fed don't have us in World War III and another Great Depression by the time 2024 rolls around.

Always nice to see a sane response from Charles on this site.

Nah, Charles you have it all wrong. Their plan is too crash the economy into a ditch by defaulting on the debt unless Democrats agree to make large cuts to SS and Medicare. They think grandma and grandpa are living too high on the hog and need to tighten their belts. All that other stuff you mentioned would just be a dog and pony show as none of it would pass with a veto proof majority.

Straight from the mouth of Mitch McConnell - there is no legislative agenda for the midterms.   There wasnt one in 2020 either.   Funny how Republicans bitch about people who suck of the government and then run their campaigns on getting elected so they can do nothing.    Good work if you can get it.

Since the only law Biden signed regarding fossil fuels was opening up a record amount of land for drilling - I guess Charles thinks that needs to be reversed...either that or he prefers to live in an alternate reality where that law didnt pass.   (Oh and the fossil fuel champions in Congress that Charles votes for  unanimously voted against it  - Welcome to MAGA country)

Make no mistake, a Republican House will guarnatee two things and nothing else.

1) 2 years of hearings about Hunter Biden's laptop.

2) One or more  government shutdowns over the debt ceiling

Looks like this thread on the repug economic plan done got the trumptards pink panties all twisted...

When has there ever been one?

I was sure, when I posted this thread, that we'd hear the standard conservitard bullshit from one of you. INFLAYSHUN BAD! Who Prezidunt? BIDEN! IT ALL BIDENZ FAULT!!!!!!

I mean, how stupid and childish. To blame a GLOBAL problem on who happens to be President of the US, which comprises 5% of the world's economy.

Hey, stupid conservitards, I'll ask this question again, and you'll weasel again: if inflation is BIDENZ FAULT, how come it's worse than here in every other Western industrialized country? Because they don't have the scourge  of Biden to deal with.

How 'bout it, prophet Charles, Charles-licking Jerry: got an explanation for that? (Cowards.)
