Republicans demand welfare checks for farmers

GOP want billions to bail out farmers

Does this sound familiar?

"Why should my tax dollars be used to pay off student loan debt for other people?"

Well, Im not a farmer.   I dont have any farm debt.  How come my tax dollars have to go to bailing out MAGA farmers who bitch about student loan money all the while putting their hands out for government checks?

I mean, I'm really not oppossed to it......but the hypocrisy is over the top dont ya think?    Its alot like when David Miller bitches about "other people" who get government checks.

The article's almost impossible to read, as the home page is slathered with ads, videos, and popups, which when you try to remove, are replaced by others. It's a junky website.

This topic is typical of American politics, in that one side will accuse the other of trying to buy votes when it pushes for legislation that would benefit a particular demographic. Educated people vote Democrat--and student loan debt relief benefits them. Rural folks vote Republican--and farm debt relief benefits them.

So who's buying votes? Both sides? Neither side? In any event, you're right, the Republiholes have no grounds to bitch about "fiscal responsibility" when opposing student debt relief, when they advocate ALSO throwing billions, but at a group that will, vote for THEM. Hypocrisy!

How large of a bailout are farmers going to need if Trump gets his tarrifs?

Not to mention he promised to triple the price of tractors on day one.

The amounts PJ's article talks about will be 🐔 feed in comparison.

Don't forget farmers got a big bailout when Trump enacted tarrifs during his first time in office.

Can I get one of these Republican jobs that pay me not to work?

Politico 7/142020

"Here’s your check’: Trump’s massive payouts to farmers will be hard to pull back

The president was already spending double his predecessor to spare farmers the cost of his trade war. Now the price is reaching unsustainable level"

"Direct farm aid has climbed each year of Trump’s presidency, from $11.5 billion in 2017 to more than $32 billion this year — an all-time high, with potentially far more funding still to come in 2020, amounting to about two-thirds of the cost of the entire Department of Housing and Urban Development and more than the Agriculture Department’s $24 billion discretionary budget, according to a POLITICO analysis. Yep, Trump was a big spender for the folks hr liked, or who he needed to buy votes from.

Well, a lot of us think our tax dollars should go to Americans, not Ukrainians pensions, bombs and illegal aliens.  You might think it's great to send our wealth to foreigners and foreign wars, but I say let them stew in their morass.

So you good with welfare, SNAP, Medicare, Medicaid, no reduction in benefits for Social Security, and financial aid for the homeless?

Oh, and legal immigrants that follow our asylum laws?
