Republicans praise 'big, beautiful bill’s' work requirement for Medicaid: ‘We’ve got to get back to work’

It is not that difficult to set up systems to determine the validity of those who qualify for Medicaid - the difficulty is enforcing the requirements and seeing that those who are determining who qualifies are following the law and not finding work arounds that break the laws - in other words, no socialists and/or DemonRATS being hired to work in the system. Get the socialists and DemocRATS out of our government and all of America and Americans will benefit. Vote OUT ALL DemocRATS>

David, I have to say, IMHO, what you said here is beyond absurd.  Sorry.

The worst part is, this isn't hyperbole--he really feels that way. I'm sure you've read his cries to round up and imprison every single Democrat lawmaker.

Turning political disagreement with the ruling party from a cherished right into a crime is a fundamental step in the fascist playbook. It's been done dozens of times, in dozens of countries. It's how democracy dies.

I wonder how loudly David would cry if a Democratic administration banned him and all other Republicans from voting or holding office.

Pretty much a microcosm of that is how David constantly petitions LVA to ban me and others from this forum. We, in contrast, not only don't do that; we've said many times that David, his horrid lies and disgusting vitriol notwithstanding, has every right to post here.

MAGA is anti-democracy.

Interesting commentary....but true.  The Constitution was set up to defend people's rights, like David, to post what he wants, no matter how ridiculous, and for people like Kevin, etal, to criticize him.

America!

I personally have attempted to understand MEGA, the definition, interpretations, pros and cons, who believes what, what is factual, what is misunderstanding, why so much hatred from both camps.  I did some looking.

MAGA began as a political slogan for Donald Trump's first presidential campaign and quickly segued into a loaded political phrase with varying interpretations.  It morphed into a politcal ideology poorly defined/understood by many of both politcal persuasions who post here, and little understood by Americans other than merchandizing bonanzas with hats, etc.

In a 2017 interview, when asked what he meant by Make America Great Again, Trump listed "...jobs...industry...military strength...taking care of our Veterans...it means so much."

Democratic leaders immediately jumped in with different interpretations of MEGA.

Quotes from Poll respondents regarding their interpretations of what MEGA means:

Republicans' interpretations (not necessarily right) of MEGA: Restoring Amerca's pride and economic strength, military might, and "traditional" values including gender roles and gender identities.  Encouraging manufacturers to hire Americans and making the USA self-sufficient as it once was.  Enforcement of immigration laws against "illegals" and cutting off foreign aid.  A desire to reverse cultural shifts viewed as threatening.  One respondent said "...going back to where men would join the military...women were home raising healthy-minded children and it was easy to be successful...crime rate was extremely low...safe for kids to hang out on the streets...and even walk themselves to places."  Another cited opposition to transgender rights, saying "MEGA people know there are only two sexes and a man can never be a woman."

Yet some Republicans have expressed racist, xenophobic or antitrans sentiments of their understanding of MEGA, examples of misunderstanding of the interpretation of MEGA believers.

Democrats' interpretions (not necessarily right) of MEGA:  A call for return to white supremacy and growing authoritarianism.  In 2016 former president Bill Clinton called MEGA a message where "if you are a white Southerner you know what it means...I'll give you an economy you had 50 years ago, and I'll move you back up on the social totem pole and other people down."  MEGA is a white supremacist movement designed to protect the status of white people and undermine the civil rights of marginalized groups.   MEGA is "nonesense idiots parrot."

From a campaign slogan to a battle cry on both sides but with different interpretations.  Naturally, like high school football rivalry, each side will flame the other.
