The House Republipigs have been cooking up a "megabill" that would make it illegal to be non-white, proclaim Trump and his progeny to be emperors for life, etc. But the most ridiculous feature was pasted on by Joe Fuckface, a MAGA moron whose actual name I don't want to bother to look up. He wants to give every child a $1000 savings account. He also said that the money should only go to the children of Trump voters (he didn't say how that should be determined).
A wrench was just thrown into the works, though. Five House Republicans have blocked the bill, stating that the cash giveaway and other "features" of the bill would add too much to the deficit. Now, I find this noteworthy for two reasons.
One, very few of the Republipigs have uttered a single peep in defiance of Trump, and those who have have been savagely punished. Two, all the blah blah blah babble babble babble notwithstanding, most Republicans don't give a fuck about the deficit. If they had, they wouldn't have spread their legs for Trump's tax breaks back in 2018. But it appears that these five actually do care, given that they're risking their careers and maybe their lives by objecting to this bill.
