This is the new mantra of The Party of the Orange Turd. The radical right no longer cares about governance--if they ever did. They WANT a government shutdown, despite all the consequences--or more accurately, BECAUSE of the consequences. They don't care if our country's reputation is damaged. They don't care if people suffer. They don't care if three million government workers don't get their paychecks. They don't care about anything but themselves.
This is the kind of shit that happens when a legislative body is closely divided AND one gang (or both) has decided that compromise is a dirty word--a very small group can hold the entire body hostage. We will probably see this in the Senate, too, where as few as two DINOs, such as Manchin and Sinema, can bring everything to a screeching halt.
We need to line all these motherfuckers up against a wall and shoot them. They were hired to do a job, and now they're reneging on their oaths. Especially the Ugly Bitch Caucus (Greene and Boebert).
The only positive aspect of this is that it will lead to a blue wave in 2024, and long after.
